Over 1,000 law enforcement officers and firefighters have been left injured while combatting rioting in France, the country’s interior minister claimed Saturday.
Gérald Darmanin, the Minister for the Interior for Emmanuel Macron’s government in France, outlined the damage caused by ongoing civil unrest plaguing the country.
The senior official also lashed out at the French far-left and its leader, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, openly blaming them for the violent disorder originally prompted by pension reforms implemented by the Macron government.
Speaking to Le Journal du Dimanche, Darmanin expressed fury at the “extreme left” in the country, saying their violence had resulted in hundreds of injuries and arson attacks since mid-March.
“Since March 16, there have been 1,093 police officers, gendarmes and firefighters injured, 2,579 arson attacks, 316 attacks on public buildings and not a word from the far left to condemn this violence,” he said.

This folks, is what a real coup looks like.
It’s a gut reaction on the Right to “back the blue”.
It’s a gut reaction for the Blue to “back the regime”.
Imagine that and not even a Trump?
Does France ever have Conservative candidates to vote for? The French seem to enjoy being controlled by their gov’t followed by rioting and destruction.
You would think the French people would eventually get smart.
But then, it seems we are headed in the same direction.
One wonders what extra economic benefits accrue to a police of firefighter injured in the line of duty. Well worth an injury claim, I’ll bet.
Either that or a typical school board meeting in Deploraville if you're a FBI agent provacature.
Storm the Bastille.
I don’t think French politics are that closely paired with American politics. They have their own issues, which I can’t figure out from a distance, because I don’t understand French very well. I’ve tried, but all I get out of it is that they spell words ridiculously, sound like they have a peanut stuck up their nose, both nostrils, and think they’re all that.
It is getting bad when even the striped shirt beret clad street mimes are tossing molotov cocktails while screaming
The Macron strategy is to use the “first responders” as victims to create public sympathy for the government right now 73 percent of the French people want the retirement age moved back to 62 and 63 percent of the French want the protests on the streets to continue.
Is the fracas still about the raising of retirement a couple of months per year until its cost balances with the tax receipts? Or has it morphed? Riots about the rioting itself?
‘The French copy no one and no one copies the French.’
It has morphed.
Starting to look like another French revolution
To add to your premise, it is also the additional requirement of an extra two years of recorded work history to qualify, not only a later date.
Apparently, from this article, people are furious at Macron pushing all kinds of things through without a vote.
Kind of sounds familiar, doesn’t it?
yep, unlike the selfie riot where we wore funny hats and walked calmly through the halls escorted by police.
Who’d want to copy them? Not I.
Sad that the Frenchies can get 9 million people in the streets to protest and conservatives in the US can only get a few hundred, and half of those are FBI and Antifa agitators.
