The Democrat-dominated Connecticut legislature is seeking to create a censorship board through Senate Bill 6410 to regulate online speech.
The bill would establish a board to study so-called online “harassment” of individuals, including government officials, and recommend legislation to censor free speech by the creation of reporting guidelines. The censorship board would consist of nine members, four of whom would represent the minority Republican party.

I'm sure you could say anything about Republicans, but if you say something about that dirt bag Governor of CT you get a knock on the door

There are laws already against making threats regardless of how they are conveyed. This is really about just eliminating criticism, regardless if it is based on fact or not. The last thing all democrats and some republicans want the public to be privy to is the truth. They all have things they want to hide from the public and their worse enemy is the freedom of speech.

As a refuge who fled deep blue Ct for paradise in SC, I can tell you that the Dems created a permanent majority years ago. This is an attempt to silence the last smattering of opposition. Ct Dems are ruthless communists.

Agreed. I left in ‘98, and it just keeps getting worse.

This is totalitarianism. SCOTUS won’t let it stand, assuming it even gets that far. State judges wouldn’t go for it, either. The deep state is entrenched, but in the judiciary there are havens of decency. They’re well-paid, serve long terms, and are not Johnny-come-lately snowflakes, usually.

Secession is not currently popular in many states.
But, individuals can ‘secede’ by getting out of the totalitarian-leaning states, by getting the heck out of town; and many have and millions continue to do so.
Eventually, secession by states from the union will occur’ it’s just a matter of how much the blue states irritate the red states, and that’s not too far away.
The conversation needs to get a big push. But, there are too many cowardly republicans scared to get it started.

I’m stuck here doing (what seems to be) a very profitable business.
But at what cost?
I’m starting to wonder... taxes are off the charts high, with absolutely no worthwhile services provided.

Even if the state provided such services, I doubt you would use them. Real Estate is doing well in Connecticut right now, so this would be a decent time to sell. You may have other reasons to stay (family, inertia), but this is a good time to think about the line you draw in the sand. Is having your high tax bill subsidize out of state abortions one such line? Depending on where you are in Connecticut a border may be close, but I admit that MA, RI and NY are no better. RI has some of the worst home school regs in the country. Yale mints premiun free legal talent to move the agenda forward. I no of no way out.
