Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz says the indictment of Donald Trump is the “worst case of prosecutorial abuse I have ever seen.” And he’s not the only one calling out this raw exercise of political power over the rule of law. Thursday night, Trump’s attorney echoed that sentiment, declaring, “today the rule of law in the United States of America died.”
Trump was charged in a sealed indictment handed up on Thursday that is believed to concern a non-disclosure agreement signed by porn actress Stormy Daniels, which the legacy media calls “hush money.” Daniels was paid $130,000 by Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen. Both Cohen and Daniels have declared that Trump didn’t make the payment himself and that there was no personal relationship in 2006 between Trump and the x-rated porn actress. Daniels has since reneged on her statement and, of course, the NDA.
Dershowitz said on the Sean Hannity program on Fox News that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is playing with fire.
[W]hen you’re a democratic elected prosecutor who ran on the campaign pledge of getting Trump and you’re going to indict, forget about the former president, the man who may become the future president if he beats the incumbent who is the head of your political party. Posecutor, you’d better have the strongest case imaginable, not a case that depends on stitching together two inapplicable statutes and using Michael Cohen.
Dershowitz has often said that a “first-year law student could win this case.”
The Harvard Law School professor emeritus told The Epoch Times, “In 60 years of practice, this is the worst case of prosecutorial abuse I have ever seen.”

Yes, start with Article V of our Constitution.
Proof that our progressive friends will try to get away with anything. Democrats don’t believe in the law anymore. It’s whatever works for them, regardless of whether it’s legal, ethical, or honest.
I agree with you 100%.
The sooner the better, as far as I'm, concerned. I hate to imagine all the Sunday shows full of ill-advised speculation.
Prosecutorial Abuse
It only happens when democrats are in charge.

Indeed it is. And if it were up to me Alvin Bragg would be... well, I don't want to get banned.
I'm with you!
Re: 54 - Very interesting, thank you.
The interesting thing about Alan - it's irrelevant who he likes or doesn't like. He will take the case of a client he doesn't agree with if he thinks the courts have been unjust. He has received much grief for doing so, especially when clients have been not supportive of Israel.
“I don’t think DT’s ego can take losing ...”
I think a strategy behind the current attack on him is to prod him into outlandish behavior and thus become truly unelectable.
In addition to teaching law, Dershowitz has practiced law as a successful defense attorney. In his heyday, the wealthy and powerful hired him.
How to watch Hannity:
Fast forward until his lips stop moving.
He had a split screen tonite and talked for 10 minutes or so until he let someone smart talk.
Trumps lawyer had to correct him.
Sean trys to say everything a guest is going to say.
Which docks the time the knowledgeable guests have.
Then he has to cut off his guests b4 they are through.
Trumps lawyer has a great voice, kept talking when Sean tried to interrupt him.
Sean must spend hours in front of mirror to perfect what he thinks is his intelligent face, what cones off is condescending ignorance. So smug and narcissistic.

BINGO!!!!!!!
Yes. In football its called hail mary play. Throw it long and pray
Already happened in 2006 when Durham, NC DA Mike Nifong had three members of the Duke Lacrosse team arrested and falsely charged with rape. Which he did to sow racial discord in heavily black Durham and bolster his chances in an election he subsequently won. The fact that he was finally found out, disbarred and spent just a single night in jail is not even close to the punishment he should have suffered and can never correct the damage he did to those young men.
Just because they were not former high elected officials did not make the DA’s actions any less egregious.
She or Alvin are going for the GOV of NYS.
Dershowitz will keep voting Demonrat as well.
Sometimes I like Dershowitz in spite of myself. He really does care about law, even though he’s otherwise libtardian.
