Our Rights DC, the group behind Saturday's "Trans Day of Vengeance" protest outside the Supreme Court, has announced that the event has been cancelled due to a "credible threat to life and safety."
The event, which was originally scheduled for the "Transgender Day of Visibility," as designated by President Joe Biden, was widely criticized following Monday's mass shooting in Nashville in which trans-identified 28-year-old Audrey Hale murdered six people, including three children.
"This action will not be taking place Saturday due to a credible threat to life and safety," Our Rights DC wrote on Twitter. "The safety of our trans community is first priority."
They went on to suggest that the threat was "the direct result of the flood of raw hatred directed toward the trans community after the Tennessee shooting."
"Individuals who had nothing to with that heinous act have been subjected to highly serious threats and blamed only because of their gender identity," the group lamented, claiming that such actions are "one of the steps in genocide."

They should all instead volunteer to be committed for evaluation and treatment.

I do appreciate that their cancelling of the event leaves Joetato hanging in the breeze as the only one celebrating the “Trans Day of Vengeance” following so closely on the heels of the Nashville murders.

They cancelled because they can get more media sympathy than of they actually went through with it.

I think that is close to the truth. But I think the real truth is, someone from the FBI told them if they showed up with their AR-15s they were all going to jail with the January 6th folks. So they canceled the riot. But I do understand they are doing small protests, on Hollywood, San Francisco and Sacramento in Caifornia
