Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned Tuesday that unless his nation wins a drawn-out battle in a key eastern city, Russia could begin building international support for a deal that could require Ukraine to make unacceptable compromises.
He also invited the leader of China, long aligned with Russia, to visit.
If Bakhmut fell to Russian forces, their president, Vladimir Putin, would "sell this victory to the West, to his society, to China, to Iran," Zelenskyy said in an exclusive interview with The Associated Press.

I believe so. The only reason I know is because I used to call them Ass Press.
It’s even worse than that, Putin’s popular support in Russia has fallen to 80% of the population.
This is Biden’s war now. Zalensky is just the puppet.
Just asking for a friend.
Tell Hunter that's just because the Ukrainian Tank Driver's Union contract forbids driving in Parades.

They showed restraint when Putin tried to assassinate Yuschenko - would America have shown restraint if an ALLY had done that to one of its presidential candidates? No. So Ukraine got it wrong.
They protested when Russia blackmailed Yanukovych and Azarov into binning the EU trade deal. That was wrong too.
They had a civil war and for three years pro Russian separatists felt the fury. Obviously that was wrong.
They beefed up their defense over a five year period, lending boots to NATO. Obviously wrong.
Then they elected a Russian speaking Jew TV personality who did a drag act once. Oh, my days, where do we even start...
Their new president got Azov to stop attacking civilians, and by December 2021 Russia stopped counting civilian casualties because there weren’t any. Too little, too late.
They were told by NATO that membership wasn’t going to happen. They conceded that reality directly to Russia. Oops. Wrong again!
They didn’t bomb the crap out of Putin’s 14 mile long convoy. Big mistake!
They flipped the bird to a Russian warship. Well, that was silly.
Then they mobilised and started fighting fiercely... After begging for international help. The chiselling bastards!
Literally everything Ukraine has done since 2003 whether it was trying to keep Russia onside or resisting an invasion by Russia has been wrong, according to the Putin fanboys here.
Perhaps Ukraine should’ve told Russia to pound sand instead of signing the Budapest agreement. And turned Russia into glass 20 years ago.
Does this mean we may not be seeing Ukrainian tanks parading in Moscow’s Red Square any time in the near future?...
