Biden's IRS Army sends a clear message to the country of things to come

Joe Biden said he's going to make people pay their fair share in taxes. He's going after billionaires- you know, those making over $400K per year. But you know what a galactic liar he is. That won't get the money he needs.

He needs you and your money. Biden had proposed tracking bank accounts which saw transactions over $600 but backed down. Then he launched a tip reporting system to bring the hammer down on wait staff. Yellen admitted that 90% of the new audits will be of those making less than $400K. The pinnacle of Biden's revenue enhancement efforts is without any question the addition of 87,000 IRS agents. We've just gotten a taste of how they will be used.

Biden is weaponizing the IRS.

On the day Matt Taibbi was to testify before Congress, he was visited in person by an IRS agent. The IRS does not drop to say hello. It does not call you. It sends you letters via the USPS. This weaponization has attracted the attention of the GOP's Weaponization Committee.

House Judiciary Committee chairman Jim Jordan is probing an unannounced, in-person visit by the IRS to the home of Matt Taibbi on the same day the “Twitter Files” journalist warned of a sprawling “censorship industrial complex” in testimony before the subcommittee on the weaponization of the federal government.

In a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel on Monday, Mr. Jordan said that while Mr. Taibbi was testifying before the committee on March 9, an IRS revenue officer appeared at Mr. Taibbi’s New Jersey residence and left a note telling him to call the agency in four days.

The IRS agent later informed Mr. Taibbi that the reason for the visit was that his tax returns from 2018 and 2021 had been rejected over concerns of identity theft, according to Mr. Jordan’s letter.

This is a blatant effort at intimidation and it portends a dark future. You can see the letter Rep. Jim Jordan sent to the IRS here:

It sounds dubious to me because the IRS does not just show up to talk to you without an appointment. (Could be someone called pretending to be him and set up an appointment?)

Sounds more like someone with access to personal information pretending to the the IRS trying to scam or troll him. (Some one from a Leftist organization.)

He should contact the IRS at some number other than the one given by the "Agent" and verify that the "agent" actually works for the IRS and actually made a visit.

Note that the IRS acknowledged the “visit” and gave a version of an explanation. So this was apparently real.

The American colonies and USA got along just fine for some 300 years before the federal income tax was imposed on us.
Our Founding Fathers did not give the federal government the power to extract an individual income tax. Wisely, I believe. As they sensed it would give the fed govt way,way too much power.
Second point,
when the federal income tax was imposed via the 16th Amendment to the US Constitution, a step pushed through by the Progressive, socalled, movement in the early 1910’s,
the public campaign was very clear... that it would apply ONLY to the “Robber-barons” as they were then called, the railroads and steel mills and such (say the Meta Googles and Amazons of that era)....monopolists or close-to-it, what the extreme leftists call The One Percent today.
Third point,
we were promised that the Fed Income tax would impose absolutely no record-keeping, accountancy, or filing burden, indeed the slogan was that those required to file at all (that 1 percent) would be able to do so “on a single postal card” (which then cost 1 cent postage, incidentally). Why anyone would wish to file on an open legible post card escapes me, but for 2 cents that 1 percent filer could just stuff it into an envelope anyway.
Fourth point,
there was NO withholding. Even the 1 percent “robber barons” were trusted as good citizens to pay when the annual due date arrived. Now, the feds don’t even trust his janitor.
Fifth point,
the tax codes and regulations are so complex that they constitute a SERIOUS BURDEN on our economy
Sixth point,
the tax system is so complex that it “employs” over a HALF MILLION people (not just Biden’s Gestapo new agents armada but also tons of tax attorneys and CPA’s both in govt and across American). Since none of this is genuinely productive work (just the opposite), this is a Tremendous waste of human resources in a country where we allegedly lack sufficient workers in key productive business and industrial sectors of the economy.
Seventh point,
the tax system has been Politically Weaponized into a seriously dangerous control system ... to deprive citizens of our liberties. Examples abound everywhere we look, and they are increasing rapidly under the current Washington regime. (But they go all the way back to the early years of the IRS when the govt couldn’t prove any real crimes against Al Capone they ran him into prison on an income tax charge, look it up you’ll see what the did...)

IRS and other federal agencies that take away American citizens’ liberties (Alkohol Tobakky and yuknow what needs immediate abolition for sure, also some agencies like fed EPA need to be carefully scrutinized and scaled back to deal with ONLY genuine serious environmental dangers impacting multiple states).

Our founders gave us a Republic with strong recognition of individual liberties of American citizens. As Benjamin Franklin said, the Constitutional Convention gave us this Republic....”If we could keep it.”

Well, we didn’t keep it.
We need to restore it, ASAP.
We won’t survive as a nation or as a people if the current tyranny is allowed to continue.
Just saying.

Seeing the J6 folks rot in jail makes this worse.

The tax code is so complicated that not one single person can comprehend in it’s entirety.

Although unlikely this could lead to political enemies being locked up over nonsense tax stuff. The Lerner intent was to turn over for prosecution next, over such inconsequential things as typos.

https://nypost.com/2023/03/28/irs-visited-twitter-files-journalist-matt-taibbis-home-same-day-as-congressional-testimony/

"The note reportedly instructed Taibbi to call the IRS four days later.

When he did, an agent told him his 2018 and 2021 tax returns had both been rejected due to identity theft concerns. ."

Taibbi gave the committee documents that indicate his 2018 return had been electronically accepted and the IRS never told him or his accountants there was an issue with it over the last 4¹/₂ years, according to the Journal.

His 2021 return was at first rejected, and then rejected again after he refiled, despite his accountants refiling with an IRS-provided PIN number, he said.

Still sounds dubious. Also sounds like someone has his SSN and is filing false returns and claiming a refund of his withholding. (I would suggest someone in Ft Lee NJ.!)

Frankly, If someone actually from the IRS decided to contact him personally rather than just sending letters because he has problems with ID Theft they were probably verifying who he and his address and was and trying to resolve his ID theft problem. Can't speak to the timing issue. Can absolutely understand how this would be viewed as ominous.

Billionaires hire counter armies of $1000/hr lawyers. No sweat.

What govt worker would want to go up against that?

Much easier to use tax dollars to get more agents to pick off individuals who can’t afford help navigating their ridiculously complex system.

Lerner was flat out evil. No reason for what she did. She turned over 1 million peoples return information over to the FBI without any warrant submitted. Should have been prosecuted and fired and jailed.

Eighth point,
All Title 26 tax code violations have to have a Title 26 enforcement regulation in the Parallel Tables of Authority. There aren’t any. Why? Because the whole 1040 tax return scheme is 100% voluntary.
Ninth point,
The Territorial United States Congress never gave power to the IRS to inflict any distraint upon anyone by any means at all. 1 CFR 21.21(c) The IRS is not allowed to use Title 27 enforcement regulations from any other U.S.C. Title other than Title 26. But 27 CFR, Chapter 1, Subchapter F, Part 70: all power of distraint enforcement of the IRS is connected to and through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. The IRS Agency is not allowed to access distraint powers lodged in any other Agency acting under any other Title of Federal Code including the BATF Title 27.

Heard it reported the other day that Lerner’s #2, who’s a real #2 (sorry don’t have the name at the moment), is now going to be in charge of raising up this army of IRS agents/worker bees.
