A Russian tank formation intended to cause devastation in Ukraine has been hit with heavy losses due to low morale and poor discipline, it has been reported.
The 10th tank regiment is part of the 3rd army corps, the first major new Russian formation in the invasion, but it has already lost 'a large proportion of its tanks, according to British intelligence.
After failing attempts to capture Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, Moscow is diverting the ailing legion to nearby Avdiivka, The Telegraph reports.

The Ministry of Defence stated: '10th tank regiment's losses have largely been due to tactically flawed front assaults similar o those in other recent failed Russian armoured attacks, such as around the own of Vuhledar.'
Other sources claim the regiment has seen discipline quickly ebb away after a series of military failures. Soldiers among the 3rd army corps are described as poorly disciplined and regularly get drunk.
In addition, troops are said to have received substandard training in Belarus and are using obsolete weapons according to Ukrainian sources.
As a result, Russian forces are now increasingly using armour in attempted suicide missions.

Are these the Chechens, Syrians or “Palestinians”?
RE: with analysts blaming ill-disciplined, drunk soldiers
WHY IS LIQUOR ALLOWED AMONG SOLDIERS IN THE BATTLEFIELD?
Is this really what’s happening? You can find other articles that essentially say Russia is advancing, although slowly. Zelensky is crying about not having weapons and ammo to send more soldiers to the front line. Is that really happening? I don’t trust any of these bastards.
Russians getting drunk? Say it ain’t so!!
That's not the point. You're supposed to pick a side, then accuse the other side of lying.
If you're really committed, or perhaps should be, you can post many multiple propaganda pieces in a row to show your allegiance, as well as plastering your automobile with stickers.
Both cities are 3/4 surrounded and are killing grounds on Ukrainian forces now.
Bakhmut is nearly all Wagner. Not alot of regular Russian forces taking the city.
Avdiivka was the main area of Ukrainian artillery for shelling the Donbas killing 12,000+ over 8 years. It was also heavily fortified by Ukrainian forces over the last 8 years. It is one of the most heavily defended places on earth.
Tough to judge on those standards.

The simplest thing to do is to look at the front lines.
Russians are making small incremental gains. They are on offense. Ukes are on defense.
Winning and losing right now is strategic. How much in men and equipment are the Russians paying for their advances. How much are the Ukes paying in men and equipment to defend.
That’s less clear.
Sometime between now and July there will be some major battles as the Ukes bring forward their 40k newly trained and equipped soldiers to go on the offensive. As well, the Russians plan to bring in 400k poorly trained and equipped soldiers to confront the Uke challenges.
What happens then?
We’ll see.
Ukraine just hit the Russian base at the airport in Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea.
I have read and seen videos of exactly that, but I also see reports opposite of that. It really is a lack of trust. I have no skin in this war other than thinking my tax dollars are being wasted where we have no national interest. Despite that, I try to remain informed, but I find it difficult to weed through propaganda coming from both sides. Should I just accept the small incremental gains the Russians are making as fact given a lack of independent validation. There’s tons of seemly detailed reports with maps meticulously updated with city block after city block of Russian advances. Neat maps, lots of detail, zero validation and credibility. When zooming out from battlefield details, the facts get no clearer or credible.
Most of Russia’s forces are concentrated in Donbas, moving the 10th to Avdiivka just further intensifies the concentration of now mostly exhausted troops.
This leaves the South with a yawning invitation ...
Wisest thing ever said in re this entire fustercluck.
I hope Ukraine blows up the Crimean bridge soon and then cuts off Crimea completely
May it be so...

It's even better than the last one!
“WHY IS LIQUOR ALLOWED AMONG SOLDIERS IN THE BATTLEFIELD?”
Forget it, Jake, it’s Russia.
Yeah, imho it should be obvious to anyone looking at at a map that the best place for a Uke offensive would be a strike toward Melitopol.
I have wondered if it was a good idea to spend troops on the defense of bakmut.
sounds like you believe there is method to it—that pulling Russians away from the south is worth the cost.
I see pro Uke utube guys showing the russian advances.
