Jason Chaffetz Goes OFF on ‘Absolutely Horrific!’ Trump Sitdown With Hannity: ‘Worst Interview I’ve Seen’ Him Do
Mediaite via MSN ^ | 28 Mar 23 | Colby Hall

As Fox News opinionators struggle with the WrestleManiacal battle between former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, it’s interesting to see where prominent conservatives on the cable news network land. Evidenced by searing criticism from former GOP Congressman turned Fox News host, we can take Jason Chaffetz out of the Trump column.

Trump returned to Fox News airwaves for a formal interview with host and political ally Sean Hannity for a Mar-a-Lago interview which aired Monday night. Some may have confused the Q&A with a Festivus celebration as there was no shortage of grievance airing, which has been Trump’s steez of late.

Fox & Friends brought on a panel of conservatives to review the interview, which was largely predictable morning show pablum, but Chaffetz took his shot.

Brian Kilmeade asked his guest, “Jason, you said overall you thought President Trump did a very poor job in the interview. Why?”

PROGRAMMING NOTE: What follows may not be appropriate for hardcore Trump followers or anyone prone to use the term ‘RINO’ in their political critiques. Nevertheless, Chaffetz dropped a bomb:

I thought Sean Hannity did a good job. But I watched that and I thought, where is Donald Trump? I voted for Donald Trump twice. I have defended him countless times. I thought he was horrific. I think that was the worst interview I’ve seen the president do. He was whining. He was complaining. He played the victim card. Time and time again. And then after that, he complained that, you know, somebody had endorsed was now running against him. And I. I thought he was absolutely horrific. He’s the former president of the United States. Act like it. He didn’t in that interview.

Best President since Reagan and still can outrun most 30 yr olds while shooting in the 70s.

A shame the US Military enabled the stolen election and installation of a fraud Commander in Chief.

Ballot harvesting is not legal when you are creating the ballots out thin air...using fake addresses , dead citizens, multiple scans of same ballots-basically breaking your own election law to drum up an extra vote. Maybe youre just not aware what exactly went on in 2020.

Once again, Trump is the bad guy, we get it. You focus on a couple of poor endorsements but neglect to mention his record on midterm endorsements was 82% I believe....probably wont ever be 100% will it?

I mean red tsunami based on what ? Polls? The GOPs only recourse was to run on touting what Trump did as President or what Biden failed to do since then.... You act great as if politicians were slighted by Trump and somehow he cost them Congress.... fact is they probably only won the House thanks to Trump.

And his complaints about 2020 should matter to anyone that believes in democracy. What a silly notion- what you mean is to sheep who believe 2020 was a fair election , no one cares what he says. Thats plenty of RINO and libs...no doubt.

As Ive mentioned already- you dont always get what what you want in DC. You can either be realistic and pragmatic - or a dreamer.

What in your opinion is the key to Trump winning over independents? because he basically owns the GOP vote..even the tiny segment that want DeSantis will evaporate soon enough.

Why did Trump endorse someone if he was so bad?

Trump evidently found out something about DeSantis after the endorsement.

That's the way it works. You change with the data.

That’s the thing with Trump. Its all about him. Its never about anything or anyone else but him. Damn the country. Damn trying to bring anyone together and end the petty squabbling. Nope. At the end of the day its all about Donald Trump and nothing else.

That's about the stupidest thing I've seen written about Trump. Even by Democrats.

You do not seem well informed. An 82% success rate when he was endorsing incumbents with a near 95% success rate is not good.

The red tsunami was based on Biden's approval numbers (lowest of any POTUS at mid-term).

50 year high inflation

War in Ukraine/Withdrawal from Afghanistan

Near highest gas, electric and other energy prices

Controlling party loses seats in midterms

All those factors were in favor of Trump's party (he is the leader), but they lost a Senate seat and barely won the House.

Under normal circumstances, the GOP should have picked up 40+ seats in the House.

Why?

Trump's candidates did not have a message other than 2020 was stolen. (there should have been a unified type of conract with America message)

Trump's candidates did not have an answer on the abortion ruling (It should have been "states-rights")

Trump's candidates were not instructed on how to combat legal ballot harvesting. They treated the 2022 midterms like every other election and got hammered as a result.

Trump did not evolve with the new election rules so he should get out of the way.

Try to respond by not blaming others for Trumps losing streak as leader of the party

Yes, 6-time loser Trump

So you discount everything he did while in office despite the constant attacks? You are the loser.

Nope, not at all. Trump did a great job on many fronts and failed on many others.

This is about winning elections and Trump is a 6-time loser in that area.

The Dems stick with Beto, you can stick with Trump

If you have a "hero" in politics, you are stupid.

I'll wait to see what everyone has to say and offer.

Ramaswamy and DeSantis have some great points so far....of course, so has Trump.

The others, not so much unless I missed something.

Right now, I am more concerned with the soon to be signed RESTRICT ACT and the impact on political discourse.

Sounds like you singled out Trump specifically. Mine would be nobody who was in public office before running. No exceptions.

“…a cabal of politicians, operatives, crooks, and corrupt cowardly judges..”

Add to that list the corrupt media. The entire media monopoly has conspired to destroy his public image since 2015 - and they have the means to do it.

Unless you watch his rallies, unfiltered, from beginning to end, there is no way you could ever catch even a glimpse of who the real Donald Trump is. And the only people who watch entire rally speeches are people who already love him.

Chaffez is a slimeball. You all know it here, those of you that are paying attention.

Utah-the state that gave us Romney and Hatch. At some point we’re all gonna have to rally behind this slime ball when he gets the nomination for a senate gig. Count me out.
