The 2022 election results appeared to enhance the ability of far-right Republicans to not only maintain their dominance in Wyoming politics, but build on it.
That grip on the GOP, however, has taken a hit. Party leaders’ actions this year appear to be a catalyst for more traditional Republicans to gain ground, and perhaps even retake party control. The return of many more moderate central committee officials in recent county elections may be a harbinger of this power shift.
More establishment conservative and moderate Republicans made a concerted effort this year to file for precinct committee seats, which in previous years were given to more hardline conservatives.
Long-time right-to-life advocate and former legislator Marti Halverson lost her spot as Lincoln County Republican chair to former treasurer Wade Hirschi, who called for more party civility and unity.
Why does he think those qualities have been missing? Perhaps it has something to do with Halverson’s call in November for an investigation of Republican Gov. Mark Gordon. The resolution was baseless nonsense, but Lincoln County Republicans helped pass a state resolution alleging Gordon is in cahoots with billionaires George Soros, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett over development of the TerraPower nuclear project near Kemmerer.

There’s a reason why people say America has a two party system—the evil party and the stupid party.
If there are any Republicans that start out to win an election because they really care about this country and the people...when they get to DC all that caring seems to dissipate and is replaced with $$ signs. Our government is corrupt and I think idealistic people get to DC and realize real quick that their ideas and the people in charge will not get along unless someone bends and breaks and it ain’t the leaders!
They have their hooks in DeSantis now and Ronnie is spewing the Military Industrial Complex talking points after he got “corrected” by the Bush-Cheney donors.
Yes…
I strongly object to the use of the term “far right” in any media. It’s just a lie word to stir negative emotions against patriots.
Dream on, as you fall into the tar pit and insist that everything’s fine, sinking lower and lower.
It’s weird... maybe it’s just me, but sometimes it almost feels like they hate us. But they still angrily demand we support them.
Quite a disconnect.

Complete misstatement. He basically said that the Ukraine War is not worth our time.
I don’t understand. Is far right supposed to be bad? Far left AKA progressives suck.
It’s a never ending war. We will lose some battles and win others. We must not let them grind us down. We
“Complete misstatement. He basically said that the Ukraine War is not worth our time.”
Which means he wants it to END, which it will, very quickly, and on Russia’s term.
End result is very similar to Trump’s position, although Trump would probably ask Russia to compromise somewhat - DeSantis was basically saying he would hand the country to Russia.
As it is, it doesn’t matter anymore - the GOP bosses reminded DeSantis of ‘something’ from his past (I suspect), so he’s back into the pro-World War 3 camp.
“Yup, that’s about right. They really can’t bear any differing opinions and it’s fascinating to watch. But they call US a cult. It’s comical.”
See my prior comment. I think DeSantis was to the right of Trump, in that DeSantis sounded ready to let Russia conclude the war on their terms, while Trump wanted it to quickly end.
But, in reality, my thought is that DeSantis wasn’t even thinking about Ukraine, at all, for the past year, which is what led to his original statement...and that’s pretty bad, if true.
In 2022 the red wave crested over FL.
Not a single statewide elected democrat.
Funny what happens in clean elections.
No.
I’m not a fan of McCain, or someone who channels McCain, as DeSantis did.
Sixty of them voted today not to defund the Department of Education, something the pubbies have been promising since Reagan won on that promise.
Putin is a war criminal, Zelensky is a globalist today, and Russia is a pidiling country not worth our time. All 3 are true. China is the real threat, and the war has made them more powerful.
Putin is a pimp, like Tattaglia.
