The U.S. Army’s recruitment goal is at a three-year-low — down by so many military recruits that the missing troops represent an entire division of soldiers. But members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff swear woke politics has nothing to do with it.
Some congressional representatives disagree, which is why an Armed Services Committee hearing is set for Thursday about the impact of Joe Biden’s Army’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs on America’s “readiness, lethality, and cohesion of the military forces.”
The Army’s recruiting travails are so dire, and “today’s young Americans appear to be less interested in enlisting in the Army than they’ve been at almost any point in the last 50 years,” when Nixon ended the draft and instituted an all-volunteer force following the Vietnam bug out. The Army is bringing back the “Be All You Can Be” slogan re-tooled for the Gen Z audience.

Antipathy toward people with more conservative views has been underway for quite some time but was supercharged after Jan. 6, 2021, when it was assumed those who breached the Capitol Building were all Trump supporters and by extension conservatives. Some who went to see Trump’s speech that day were military veterans.
Conservatives had to go.
Within weeks, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs head Gen. Mark Milley issued a directive that the Pentagon hold a one-day civilian stand-down “to discuss extremism in the ranks with their personnel” to “rid our ranks of racists and extremists.” To purge such extremist wrong-think, Austin double-timed DEI training in the ranks to extinguish it. One whistleblower told Congress that military diversity videos depicted America and white people as “inherently evil.”

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby defended the divisive programs saying, “they are essential for recruiting the ‘right people’ in its duty to defend the nation.” The military is a meritocracy, but Kirby intimated that it’s chock full of horrible people. “We want you to be able to do it free of hate and fear and discrimination,” he pitched. Discrimination against white people and conservatives is okay, though.

I met a recruiter at a school event attended by my Dad’s veteran group. I told him: “you are working 9/5, 5 days a week to recruit kids, but Biden and his masters are working 24/7, 365 days a year to keep good people from joining. You’ve got an impossible job”
He didn’t say anything and walked away.
Well, if wokeness isn’t the reason, why not double down on it and see what happens?
For example, require all men who enter recruiting offices to wear dresses. You know, as a sign of solidarity. Require all women to wear burkas.
Yeah, that’s the ticket. It would probably solve all the Pentagon’s recruiting problems.
Would suggest the continued ‘war-theme’ may be part of the issue. Lot of people are looking at technical training options. Woke stuff does figure into this. For some people...once you add in the LGTBQ stuff...it’s more of a burden to spend four years getting constantly lectured.
In today’s world...it would have been four years and out for me.

Because wokeness emphasizes the uniqueness and special attributes of every individual it is antithetical to unit cohesion and morale. Commitment to achieving mission objectives requires the subordination of ego to the efficiency and security of the unit. In other words, it should be all about the team, not the emotional needs of its members.
It no wonder there is a recruiting problem.
It’s a military leadership problem and a political leadership problem. When young people hear that flaming faggot, Linda Graham, fomenting WWIII they lose interest. They look back at the abject failures of our military and say, “no thank you”. The woke and racist crap plays a role too since it destroys military leadership credibility. It certainly doesn’t help to have a racist loser negro as DefSec. It doesn’t help when the woke chairman of the joint chiefs doesn’t respect his body. He’s a lard ass. He has no standards. Winning certainty isn’t one of them.

Not the ONLY reason.......I’d say mandatory covid shot requirements would as big a reason as woke.
“Wokeness” might not be the only reason but I’m sure it’s one of them. That and people can see we might be headed towards war with Russia and/or China in the not so distant future. Plus most zoomers seem to be a bunch of spoiled wussies who can take their eyes off their cell phones. Why don’t they draft all those illegals coming here across the border? I’ll bet they’re not interested either.
In my county, about 250 kids graduate each year. Normally, 15-20 join the military. In 2022, it was 3.
If 'merit' is based on pigmentation and/or weirdness of sexual kink, then the fool Kirby is correct - it's a 'meritocracy'... But if by 'merit' we mean intellect, courage, decency, ability to think strategically, it's NOT.
Soon the creepy slugs at the top of our military will want to lower standards - and start recruiting from stupid people "who only committed small crimes"... and have 'been clean' for over a year.
(You think it's weird to be afraid of our own FBI - just wait until we have to be afraid of men.. oops I mean "things" in uniform)
They want to turn America into Wokanda.
Ask the front line recruiters on the ground what they are seeing and hearing.
