That’s not a bug, that’s a feature.
The idea is to discourage private landlords and make them sell the ChiCom backed companies buying up properties in bulk.
Property rights go hand-in-hand with 2nd Amendment right.
There’s a resolution, all right. Might involve cleaning up afterwards, but that’s the way it is. Oh, we can always call the resolution “mostly peaceful”.
<y wife showed me a video where the owner got inside in the morning when they were out and moved HIS stuff in, and HE started squatting on the squatters! Brilliant. It worked. He soon brought in unsavory friends who put the other people’s belongings outside where they were stolen. They left within 2 days.
Where is Black Water when you need them.
I would have hired Guido and his friends............much quicker.........
Way back in the early oughts, there was a local story where some immigrants moved into an empty rental house. It took the owner over two years and $$$ to clear them out.
Looking back, that was one of the first times I knew my country was not what I thought it was, and that we were going down.
Seems quaint now.
Practicing your golf swing or batting swing indoors, or maybe cleaning your gun in the intruders face *might* work.
Don’t rent out property unless you’re willing to squat on the squatter.
How do hotels handle this? You’d think that problem would be much more prevalent.
Most of these legal ‘oh it’s a quandary, very difficult to resolve’ are legal scams run by, for and to the benefit of lawyers.
Houses are valuable assets. That’s why lawyers are attracted to them.
Find a local biker gang. Make an eviction deal with them.
When I lived in SE Asia, clearing out unwanted tenants was a job for local mafia.
if even property laws were clear, police/court enforcement was very lax in countries like Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan. For average local people in average local properties, it would be impossible to rent a place if you weren’t somehow connected to the owner.
In such “relationship-based” societies, (ie. 3rd world) to get an unwilling tenant or squatter to leave was a process of negotiation, threats, pressure through mutual acquaintances, etc...
Even then, a final solution to a stubborn renter would be to call in the local mafia.
As a side note - that’s why landlords liked renting to us Americans - we had no local network/relationships, we paid our rents on time, were were not bums in their country, and we operated according to the agreements.
So in sum - more and more America is resembling a 3rd world country
Air B&B’s beware...
Notice that most of the examples are from democrat run states or democrat run cities.
A guy down the road had squatters. This is a conservative county. I thought the sheriff was a conservative and would enforce obvious law and protect the voters.
Instead of the squatters having to prove they owned the property, clearly they did not since the deed was recorded and the taxes payed by the owner, the owner had to prove they did not own the property. That is nothing short of INSANE. What is more, it is impossible to prove a negative.
It took months to get rid of the vermin.
I did not have a vote “ex-absentee landlord” here. Voted for Zeldin in NY.
1006 Kinyon can be found in SB, In, Mayor Pete’s old rust belt city.
Get a couple of friends and move them out! Why wait on police? I don’t believe one would get in trouble for manually evicting squatters. If I am incorrect in this assumption then something has gone horribly wrong with our system.
3S rule: shoot, shovel, shut up
Squatting in a residence is something that he talked about. The context of how it fit into the state CCL was what can a private citizen do to evict a trespasser from home or property. In NC the answer is not much. Call the police or sheriff and they won’t evict without a court order. Try to do it yourself and you’re likely to end up on the receiving side of some variety unlawful detention or assault charge.
The NC solution is to hire a private security officer. This isn’t cheap. They work for you. They have the power to arrest a squatter or trespasser on the spot, transport to jail and book them into jail on whatever charges fit the circumstances. YMMV…
