Manchin calls Biden administration priorities ‘absolutely infuriating’ after ESG veto

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) teed off on President Biden’s decision earlier on Monday to veto a bill that would have nixed a Labor Department rule on environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing.

Manchin, who was one of two Senate Democrats to vote with Republicans to overturn the rule on March 1, called Biden’s decision “absolutely infuriating” in a statement and panned the administration for putting its “radical” and “progressive agenda” ahead of the country’s needs.

The Senate is currently 49-48, with Fetterman and Feinstein out on the Democrat side, and McConnell out on the Republican side.

If Manchin joins the Republicans, they get operatational control at 49-48 R until either Fetterman or Feinstein returns.

Maybe I was hasty in my post. They can't stop it if Biden already signed it, but they can stop Biden in the near future if Republicans take over operation control.

Manchin was expressing frustration with Biden's overall agenda, not just this one green bill. Manchin comes from a coal state.

I think you’re being a bit generous with Federman returning. Ever since his medical incident weeks ago, he has not been seen, as far as I can tell. It was supposed to be a couple weeks, but that seems like it was almost a month ago, and not a peep about him since.

Did anyone catch the Biden tweet the White House put out of him talking about the evil Maga Republicans and why he had to veto this bill. They actually had to close caption it, because he sounded so feeble and weak with probably have the words slurs together. I honestly watched it three or four times, but could barely make it out.
