If these charges are as weak and bs as some say they are, then Trump, who can easily afford the best lawyers in the country, ought to be able to brush them aside with ease.
If the charges are solid and Trump is in deep trouble, then I could understand Trump’s supporters begging for help from DeSantis.

As governor of Florida, DeSantis could make it very, very difficult for federal authorities to arrest President Trump, or he could outright prevent it because the charge undewr which the arrest would be made is in fact unlawful and unconstitutional.
If DeSantis does not step up, he proves his RINO status to the entire nation.
As a direct result, DeSantis would never become president of our United States.
