x WHEN DO WE START TO LIVE AND BE HAPPY?
We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that we're frustrated we have teenagers with whom to deal. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage! We tell ourselves our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a vacation, when we retire. The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when?
Your life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway. Alfred D'Souza said, "For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life". This perspective helps us to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So, treasure every moment that you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with ... and remember that time waits for no one. So stop waiting until you finish school, until you go back to school, until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until fall, until winter, until the first or fifteenth, until your song comes on, until you die, until it's too late to decide there is no better time than right now to be happy ... for happiness is a journey, not a destination. Brother Saul
Placing his hands on Saul, [Ananias] said, “Brother Saul, the Lord . . . has sent me.”
Acts 9:17 “Lord, please send me anywhere but there.” That was my prayer as a teenager before embarking on a year as a foreign exchange student. I didn’t know where I would be going, but I knew where I
didn’t want to go. I didn’t speak that country’s language, and my mind was filled with prejudices against its customs and people. So I asked God to send me elsewhere.
But God in His infinite wisdom sent me precisely where I asked not to go. I’m so glad He did! Forty years later, I still have dear friends in that land. When I got married, my best man Stefan came from there. When he got married, I flew there to return the favor. And we’re planning another visit soon.
Beautiful things happen when God causes a change of heart! Such a transformation is illustrated by just two words: “Brother Saul” (Acts 9:17).
Those words were from Ananias, a believer God called to heal Saul’s sight immediately after his conversion (vv. 10–12). Ananias resisted at first because of Saul’s violent past, praying: “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people” (v. 13).
But Ananias was obedient and went. And because he had a change of heart, Ananias gained a new brother in faith, Saul became known as Paul, and the good news of Jesus spread with power. True change is always possible through Him!
Reflect & Pray
How have you sensed God calling you to have a change of heart? How can you encourage a new believer today?
Jesus, thank You for changing my heart with Your love. Help me to extend it to others.

Howdy, Kathy.
I hope you didn’t have trouble getting out this morning to head to the office. The main streets look clear at least.
Snow is all around you at the moment and I read it’s whiteout around Turnagain Arm. You aren’t missing that “fun” by very much! Thank goodness it’s moving west and not north.
So far.

How’s your storm situation coming along? When I went to bed last night both our temps were 34.

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.

Hey there...
Roads were dry on the way in. I came home a little different route, but those roads were mostly dry, but it started to snow. No snowing at home, but the wind is picking up and according to the deck, some drizzles.
My roof shoveling detail is going to try for early next week if I still want them. YES!!! I don’t want all this snow on my roof as it really starts to melt. Who knows how many leaks I could have.
“We have been trying to get back to your place to complete the roof shoveling but we have been flooded with leak calls. Spring is here.”
They came right away when I needed them! But I have really thick ice dams and would like to see them pared down and the snow shoveled off..

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

No storms or even rain until late in the next week. Just chilly for a few days with very cold nights. My car looked like it was snow-covered last night, the layer of frost on it was so heavy.
They say our low tonight will be around 20. I feel bad for the strawberry farmers who are fighting hard to save their crops through this cold spell.

I’m surprised it hasn’t snowed all day up there. There’s so much of it to the east but it seems to be hung up in the mountains. It’s scooting west down south of you, like along Turnagain Arm. It sounds like a little made it over the mountains today though.
Glad all the streets were good for driving. I didn’t know if your street was going to give you trouble.
VERY glad to hear they’ll be there to clear your roof. The sooner, the better. I’ve been worried about collapse all winter with the little pitch your roof has.
