The Department of Justice is gearing up to prosecute up to 1,000 more people on charges related to the Jan. 6 Capitol incursion, according to a letter from a U.S. attorney obtained by Bloomberg.
United States Attorney for the District of Columbia Matthew Graves sent a one-page letter to Chief Judge of the D.C. District Court Beryl Howell on Oct. 28, estimating cases could be filed for between 700 and 1,200 additional defendants as the department was already near making its 900th arrest, Bloomberg reported.

But the same tired old, POSs still get re-elected.
They’ll keep their promises this time, they promise.
One of them will.
“or are they going even further to those who just attended the Trump rally and then went home?”
Yes, and all those on the internet who supported their rally that day from their armchairs.
They are going to go all in with this...
McCarthy really needs to release all of the J6 video footage to all of us. Some of the people currently behind bars might not be if they’d had access to all of the footage. No more innocent people need to be locked up in these Democrat witch-hunts.
Everyone of them need to be charged with criminal fraud and misrepresentation.
Classic double-down.
Those are my questions as well. It looks like the arrest list is now approaching 2000 people. Did all of them enter the Capitol? I find that hard to believe.
I guess that simply attending the rally is now federal crime.
It sure would be nice if our wonderful GOP leaders in the Senate and House would speak up against this. For what we are seeing here is a chilling overreach of federal power.
Oops. What am I saying? Most of our GOP leaders are part of the Deep State. They are probably thrilled to hear about these additional arrests.
This is the fault of Republicans for even letting this enter the public discourse.
Republican leaders should be holding a press conference on the steps of the Capitol (as Nancy used to do) to get public support behind them.
They are basically cowards, not interested in the citizens of the USA.
RAY EPPS.
This would be from the information harvested by the FIB’s Stingray on J6 from cell phones present in the Capital grounds.
“How many people actually entered the Capitol that day?”
2000-2500 is the number commonly reported. So still plenty of of people from that pool to prosecute. ~725 have been prosecuted so far.
Minority Report.
...and people* here claim that Russia has tyrannical leader.
*actually ‘operatives’, with a few exceptions.
I’m assuming you’re talking about our elected ‘representatives’.
As much as I’d like to see all of that happening, I’ll settle for them not being re-elected. And make sure the next Congress, votes to take away their pensions(retroactively about 20-30 years) and any/all security clearances.
And how many rioters did DOJ prosecute for the 2016 Inauguration riots in D.C.?
Thought Police next.

In many ways we’re already there.
Hey, Fibbies!
The minute I heard about the rally I made a cheap flight and hotel reservation, but my wife vehemently objected, so I canceled them.
But I committed a thought crime!
Come and get me, coppers!
My guess is that someone in the deep state got angry over Tucker Carlson’s broadcast of the secret tapes and decided to launch Operation We’ll Show Them.
Just another reminder that the Democrat Party (with the aid of some key RepublicRATS) is nothing but dictatorial, unconstitutional zealots who care more about total power than the Constitution, rights, justice, and truth.
Lets review the released video and show me 1000 people who committed crimes worth this kind of prosecution. Meanwhile, I can list off hundreds of elected and unelected criminals in DC who ought to be in prison for high crimes... including the fraud president in the White House... against whom there is more documented evidence of crimes than all the charges and accusations against Donald Trump that have ever been made...
