Trump looking at Kari Lake as possible 2024 running mate: report

Could two losers make a winner?

Former President Donald Trump is strongly considering a woman to be his 2024 running mate and views failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake as the model for a potential vice president, according to a report.

Trump, 76, who launched his third White House bid Nov. 15, sees Lake as someone who could help him shore up the necessary support among suburban women to defeat President Biden, Axios reported on Tuesday, citing people who talked with Trump about his plans.

More importantly, Lake — a former TV news anchor in Arizona who has yet to concede her defeat by Democrat Katie Hobbs this past November — meets Trump’s main criterion as a tenacious defender of the 45th president, the report said.

But Lake, 53, also comes with a downside separate from her most recent election loss, the former president’s allies told Axios.

“Could two losers make a winner?”

Neither one is a loser, unless victims can be considered losers — which, I suppose, is possible.

As much as I like Kari, why would Trump pick a failed gubernatorial candidate from a state that he needs to win in order to be elected? I do believe the election could have been stolen from her, but it will be stolen again in 2024.

She’s a fighter. We need that. My view of Trump depends on whether he has learned to hire/appoint good people. This would be a step in the right direction.

I don't think Pence brought home Indiana, they came along w/o him.

The reason it won’t be Kari Lake is she will take a lot of the spotlight away from Trump and that is forbidden.

You raise a good point. Whoever he picks should help deliver a state. Maybe this is a “we was robbed” ticket. Dunno. I do like Kari Lake. She speaks well.

I don't think Pence brought home Indiana ...

But Pence had won a statewide election. Kari has not.

“Could two losers make a winner?”

You have to wonder about the mind of someone who wrote that line. Is he trying to achieve higher literary standards (irony) by metaphorically positing two opposites?

Does he actually think that Trump and Lake are losers, when manifestly their elections were stolen? That would make him a freaking idiot.

I’d vote for him regardless of his running mate, but I really like this one. Two fighters on the same ticket!
