Two Georgia suspects were taken into custody for stealing gaming systems after police located them charging their getaway vehicle.
Gwinnett County North Precinct officers were responding to a dispatch call notifying them of a theft in the area.
When officers arrived at the scene, they were told that the suspects fled in a Tesla.
The officers then broadcasted the description to surrounding officers. The suspects were discovered a short ways from the scene of the crime charging the vehicle.

Heh heh heh
That’s great. Good laugh with first morning joe.
You just can’t make this stuff up!
LOL! And you can’t do like at the gas station and throw a couple of gallons in the tank.
and not the Bee!
Maybe the court will be lenient because the criminals’ green hearts were in the right place.
Years ago a guy held up a bank in downtown Minneapolis. He had left his car running out in front of the bank. When he jumped in he found that his car had run out of gas. He was caught about a block away waiting for a get-away bus.
ROTFL!!! You can’t make this stuff up. I LOVE THIS COUNTRY!!! Americans are so damn stupid! Funny too! America is the number one sit com on the planet. The rest of the world is laughing their asses off at us. We’re not the same country whose ancestors fought the Revolution, the Civil War, World War I and World War II. America has become more like “Blazing Saddles.”
“Maybe the court will be lenient because the criminals’ green hearts were in the right place.”
The court oughta give ‘em an extra 10 years for being extra stupid.
Considering all possibilities when planning a caper is an important part of such an escapade.
These criminals suffered from a lack of proper planning. Next time, they should first prepare a Power Point presentation which has the required five bullet-points addressing the issue of “What could possibly go wrong?”.
Stealing video games in a Tesla. Maybe crime does pay.
The new normal.
Having ☕ right now. It’s hard to believe how stupid some people are. Their brain must ache from inactivity.
A very slim silver lining for the need to charge EVs. :) Professional thieves better check range in their getaway cars from now on.
I wonder if there’s more to this as it is no-doubt possible for some people (not sure how widespread) to pull up a map showing all Tesla locations (where every car is), and then locate the one which was the likely suspect (Tesla at the crime scene at the time of the crime)...then feed that vehicle a message saying “You better charge up now” and thereby get them into a nice box to round them up.
Certainly within the capability of today’s technology, and if it wasn’t done here, it will be done in the future, on a regular basis.
We definitely don’t have the serious people that we did in the wars you mentioned.
