Federal authorities have not yet brought criminal charges against two Honduran nationals who allegedly shot and killed a bald eagle in Nebraska to eat it for dinner.

Looks like the feds are protecting the illegals over bald eagles.
Imagine if one of us were caught killing a bald eagle...
It’s important to have several layers of legal prosecution so that the Justice authorities can “get” the people they hate but just sort of “look the other way” for the people they wish to privilege. [/s]
Illegals with illeagles?
Every time I go to a foreign country, and break one of their laws, I just whip out my American passport and say to them, nothing applies to me since I’m a foreigner...... think that works in other countries????
Honduran = Hispanic = protected privileged minority.
Eagle = symbol of the USA, and protected.
So, under biden, it’s easy to figure out which one gets protected and which one trashed.
“Imagine if one of us were caught killing a bald eagle...”
I’m sure there’s many examples, but back about ten years ago I remember a case in Alabama where a guy took down a tree containing an eagle’s nest while clearing some land. He spent a few years in fed prison. I think, by law, even collecting eagle feathers is protected.
I remember a case in Central California where a Taiwanese farmer killed five kangaroo rats on his property - which are endangered. He faced personal fines and jail time and became a cause celebre for private property rights - the feds eventually - and luckily for him - dropped all charges.
That’s why they say in that part of the country “shoot, shovel and shut up.”
It’s gotten so crazy that even TREES are considered a protected species.
My brother called a tree trimming service to cut back some trees along his fence line that were shading his garden and his neighbor’s - tree trimmers too one look and said it was illegals to trim back that type of tree (a certain type of oak, IIRC) even if they were on private property.
They didn’t know any better. 🙄
“Illegals with illeagles?”
I see what you did there.
They were hungry and needed food. They were going to eat the bird (!!).
That should get them off the hook.
Charge them, convict them, send them to jail for two years, then deport them. Good riddance.
They was on a huntin’ trip? That should tick off someone.
(American) Indians can do it though I think, religious reasons...
I remember a lady that used to add bird feathers to art works she produced and sold. There was An eagle nested in a tree near her property. She collected feathers from under the nest. At an art exhibit she was presenting paintings in she was arrested and fined $25,000 for possessing the eagle feathers and her art work was seized. Illegal immigrants kill an bald eagle and nothing.
Well, after all: Weren’t they just hungry?

This story angers me beyond words; sarcasm is my only relief.
From 1917 to 1953, Alaska had a bounty on bald eagles.....
Certain native American tribes may have a dispensation to do this.
Ignorance of of the law is no excuse. I’ve had a judge tell me those exact words !
