In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, when little was known about the novel virus, the U.K. government briefly considered asking the public to exterminate every cat amid fears that the pets could spread the disease.
Lord Bethell, a former deputy Health Minister from 2020 to 2021, revealed the news Wednesday during an interview with Britain’s Channel 4 News.

You don't see cat owners parading their pets into PetSmart like the dog owners do.
You don't see cat owners dragging their "service" cats into supermarkets, perched in the carts.
You don't see cat owners driving with their cats in their laps and the cat's head sticking out the window like the yappy dog owners do.
Dogs lick their balls and butts then lick their owners faces, cats don't do that.

Here’s the deal. A lot of us labored long hours without adequate PPE at considerable risk to our own life to treat the elderly and others who had covid. I am sick of hearing those efforts slandered by armchair warriors who attacked from the comfort of their own home. Flame away all you want - I’ve heard it all. You do serious maligning of those that literally risked their lives to help others. It disgusts me no end.
