Whoopi Goldberg told her co-hosts Wednesday on ABC’s “The View” that “politics got in the way of a lot of looking for the truth” on the origins of the coronavirus pandemic while discussing FBI Director Chris Wray agreeing with the U.S. Department of Energy that COVID likely came from a Chinese lab leak.
Goldberg said, “The politics got in the way of a lot of looking for the truth, but they still are not saying definitively, and that’s a problem. They still don’t know for sure. You know, who knows where it came from? Maybe it did, maybe it didn’t. But I know when the last guy before Biden said anything about this, he made it about Asian people.”

It wasn’t *only* politics. I recall the worldwide intense outrage and anger when Covid first started up. TPTB likely did not want there to be anyone to blame for it, to become the target of the outrage and anger. What were we gonna do? Bomb China? And, they *really* did not want to go there because the trail led right back to the US of A and Fauci & Friends. So it had to be a wet market and bats and pangolins and stuff and “natural”.
It all came out anyway, of course, but once it hit mainstream, it’s all about China and a leak. The angry folks on the right are angry about the vaccines and obsessed with them. The folks on the left who might have got angry are now invested in not blaming Fauci & Friends because that’s “crazy right winger stuff”. And the Q folks who pushed all the nutty conspiracy stuff about the vaccines (itty bitty razor blades, wiggly parasites, teeny tiny nano-octopuses, snake venom, etc.) played right into their hands. Well done, PTB.
Nobody’s interested in the insane policies that led to our encouraging and funding Bat Lady to play GoF with very dangerous viruses in a Chinese lab known to be leaky. Nobody’s interested that GoF research continues. Nobody cares about our dependence on China for essential goods (including PPE, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies). Nobody too upset about the tremendous harm caused by the lockdowns. Nope. None of the things we really should be upset and making noises about.
