Former President Donald Trump swung left in his latest bizarre attack on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, on Tuesday accusing him of wanting to cut Social Security and Medicare and calling him a “wheelchair over the cliff kind of guy” in an all-caps blast.
Trump, 76, who announced Nov. 15 that he was seeking the 2024 Republican presidential nomination and is expected to face his most significant primary challenge from DeSantis, initially touted his poll numbers showing him leading the 44-year-old governor before cribbing from Democratic attack ads of the past.
“Great Poll numbers are springing forth for your favorite President, me, against Ron DeSanctus (& Biden). I guess people are finding out that he wanted to CUT SOCIAL SECURITY & RAISE THE MINIMUM AGE TO AT LEAST 70, at least 4 times. LIKEWISE WITH MEDICARE, WANTED BIG CUTS,” the 45th president posted on his Truth Social account.
“HE IS A WHEELCHAIR OVER THE CLIFF KIND OF GUY, JUST LIKE HIS HERO, failed politician Paul Ryan, the FoxNews ratings destroyer who led Mitt Romney’s Presidential Campaign down the tubes. GLOBALIST’S [sic] ALL! WE WANT AMERICA FIRST!!!” Trump added.

Trolling or not, people are gettin’ tired of the ego and petty name calling......Governor DeSantis protected the people of Florida from the draconian fed gov covid mandates and secured monoclonal antibody treatments until biden cut it off.....to attack him now is at the very least unbelievably poor timing......and may very well be a serious political blunder.

Because he’s flirting with senility. He’s becoming a caricature of himself. And his schtick is getting really old and moth-eaten.
It is absolute suicide for any Republican to talk about Social Security reform. Trump knows this. If Social Security is going to be reformed, it will be done by a Democrat. Who will be hated for it.
Trump did the same in the weeks before the Georgia Senate runoff in 2020. He is a loose cannon that destroys another that questions him at all costs. I keep hoping Trump will at least act rational with the significant support he has in the polls. He just cannot seem to bring himself to do it.
He would rather bring down his entire agenda than accept someone may have a different view than him.

Trump’s “kiss the ring” campaign is stupid, and it’s already backfiring. If he wants to win in the primary, he should be pushing his record, which had some great achievements.
Part of me wonders if Trump even wants to win in 2024. I think he’s happier as a perennial litigant in the 2020 race which he believes was stolen from him. He has to choose which presidential election to run for, and he keeps picking the one that is three years in the past.
