The Defense Ministry of the breakaway Transnistria region of Moldova said on Tuesday that the next military exercise by the “peacekeeping contingent” in the region will begin on March 1.
"The peacekeeping contingent of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic continues to accept applications for participation in the next three-month training camp from March 1," the ministry said in a statement.
The statement came a day after the head of the breakaway Transnistria region, Vadim Krasnoselsky, said there is “no real danger” in the region, amid claims by Russia that Ukraine is preparing an "armed provocation" in the region.

No coincidence, I’m sure...
It’s important to note that the Russian peacekeepers there were approved by the UNITED NATIONS. If Moldova or anyone else objects to them being there, they need to take it up with the UNITED NATIONS.
bkmk
How cute….
and what happens when the Russian “peacekeepers” turn into Russian attackers?
“and what happens when the Russian “peacekeepers” turn into Russian attackers?”
Why would they do that?
oh, because Russia has a long history of attacking neighboring countries
so it would follow the pattern Russia has already established
What UN approval?
Russia agreed to withdraw its 14th Army from Moldovan territory in an agreement signed 21 October 1994 and acknowledged in the December Budapest declaration of the Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe.
On 7 April 2016, Russia announced it would withdraw its troops from Moldova once the problem of liquidating the 14th Army's armament depots was solved.
On 22 June 2018, UN General Assembly adopted resolution (document A/72/L.58), which urged the Russian Federation to unconditionally withdraw its troops and armaments without delay from the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
To this day, Moldova continues requesting the withdrawal of the Russian troops from Transnistria, having done so as recently as in 2021
All 1600 of them:)
“oh, because Russia has a long history of attacking neighboring countries”
When they’re goaded to do so, as in Ukraine. In this case, there are 400 soldiers there, so I doubt they’re much of a threat to anyone.
The west is in a pickle because Transnistria is home to large warehouses of Soviet era weapons and ammo stored there by agreement of the former Warsaw Pact nations. This is a cache of ammo and arms Ukraine desperately needs. But if Ukraine attacks, they will be doing exactly what they accuse Russia of doing and they will lose more support among the NATO countries already on the fence about giving more resources to Ukraine. But, as BobL points out, Moldova has long standing agreements with Russia for the Russians to be there. They can’t unilaterally terminate those agreements without repercussions.
All these machinations within the Moldovan government, coupled with what appears to be preparations for some kind of provocation coming from Ukraine might force the Russians to attempt a landing at Odessa to create a path for the Russians to resupply and defend Transnistria.
You seem to have skipped one (likely on purpose):

By the way, the General Assembly’s votes are NOT binding (but then you knew that too).
Transnistria region-world War 2 era
A local bloodbath between Fascist’s and Communist’s
That is not our fight

The Neocons have pretty much DEMANDED that Russia take Odessa and then link up with Transnistria by promising Ukraine that they WILL join NATO.
Nope. The July 1992 agreement between Moldova and Russia calls for the gradual withdrawal of the Russian military which Russia has never complied with.

Right neocons are FORCING Putin to attack/annex more Ukrainian cities. Crazy
Initially, not forever. That's why the agreement states Russia agreed to gradually withdraw those troops, which it has not.
“Right neocons are FORCING Putin to attack/annex more Ukrainian cities. Crazy.”
Yes, crazy, to the Neocons...but not the rest of the world.
By the way, have you guys had any luck getting China and India to join the ‘sanctions’? Seems like Russia is having a FIELD DAY selling them oil that they then refine and send to Europe.
