A total of 7.2 percent of U.S. adults identified as LGBT in 2022, a new record high.
As Statista's Katharina Buchholz notes, Gen Z, newly added in the Gallup survey's 2020 edition, is the gayest generation in terms of self-identification.
Almost 20 percent of those born between 1997 and 2004 identified as LGBT, compared with around 11 percent of Millennials.

While scientists believe that the share of LGBT individuals has not actually changed over time, younger people in the U.S. are more likely to be openly gay, lesbian, bisexual or transsexual.
Even within the generation of Millennials, defined as those born between 1981 and 1996, self-identification quotas rose in the past years. In 2014, only 6.3 percent of Millennials had said they identified as LGBT.
For older generations, levels of self-identification did not change majorly in the past decade.
The Gallup survey question did not ask respondents to identify as other sexes, sexual identities or sexual orientations like intersex, asexual or queer.

You’d think it was 72% how they are so worshipped. Even Trump went back on being opposed to gay marriage, for what?
See? They DO teach religion in public schools and it’s followers are growing!
Back when AIDS exploded, it became the first politically protected death sentence. Other infirmities that had a cure, were tracked and everyone possibly affected was found, or at least a major attempt was made. They fought like hell to stop the identification of the relationship between homosexual males, and AIDS. To identify it as a gay disease was not just frowned upon, you were admonished if you tried. Eventually, when so many gay males were sick and dying, they still tried to say ‘just wait, heterosexuals are next.’ It never happened.
They also grossly exaggerated the percentage of gay males. That way, outrageous funding requests could be justified. This percentage of trans is no different. Normalize debauchery, and soon, everything, anything is normal. The democRAT Party is not just the Party of Death, they need to destroy the family, for only when the family is no more can big brother become everyone’s mommy and daddy. The black family has been decimated. Every other family is their next target.
Only because it’s thought of as brave and something to be proud of by the psychotics that run today’s media and Democrat party. And by the child molesters who teach children in the schools.
You get what you reward. And let’s face it, the entire LGBTQ+ formulation is so non-specific you could come up with any number you like.
Not really surprising. The schools are teaching mental illness as a way of life.
But did they define what LGBT stood for in the survey ? I identify as LGBT, but to me it means Lets Go Brandon Team :-)

Of course many people will claim they are LGBTQIA+/:)- because it’s a way they can get certain free medications, or special protections, attention, etc. Example: https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/basics/prep/paying-for-prep/index.html If you can get $1,750 of meds every month for free do you think that’s an incentive to claim your LGBTQIA+/:)-?

Everyone wants to be a minority and disabled today.
In other words, the left has forced mental health issues on a portion of our citizens as never before. A social contagion has spread throughout our country in which, to be a part of the “in crowd”, a lot of people have decided to identify as “trans”. I’m not in favor of supporting a person’s mental delusions, but would not object if they are over 21, and do not require me to agree with, support, or celebrate such delusions. A line is crossed when government officials and the media insist that you should not only celebrate this mental illness but should introduce your children and others to that lifestyle. And, that any objection in doing so is violating other’s civil rights.
I’m assuming and hoping such delusions will eventually disappear and the media and government officials will forget they ever promoted such foolishness. (I’ll not forget it). Regrettably, the damage they have caused to so many people, and especially young children, will remain for decades to come.
I remember all the concerns for young teens (mainly girls) back in the 90s, who were suffering from anorexia. Studies were done (with lots of government money but resulting in little definite conclusions), but if you read between the lines, showed that it was attention these young people craved and it was peer pressure that caused such behavior. After the media moved on to something else, and the “white papers” were no longer in demand, the “experts” on the subject disappeared from leftist news sources such as the NYT’s and all medical journals. (You have to ask yourself why did such a “medical issue” suddenly disappear and no longer need attention and studies?).
It’s much the same with the trans crowd and their physician supporters. It’s a fad. A harmful one,but a fad just the same.
Back in the late 50s and early 60s the hula-hoop became popular. Everyone had to have one and companies promoted them in commercials on every major show that teens might tune in to. Cities were having hula-hoop contests and there were interviews with hula-hoop champions on news broadcasts or shows such as Bandstand and Soul Train. That fad was harmless, but eventually faded.
I predict law firms will start cropping up and advertising their services in filing lawsuits against the psychiatrists, physicians, schools, hospitals, and even parents that encouraged such harmful treatment for a “mental illness” they called “gender dysphoria” but was actually the age-old process of “going through puberty”. It is my hope that medical malpractice insurance companies will be the first to take a stand and say “we will not cover you if you perform these services”.
They do all this harm for money and power, so that is what has to take a hit for them to stop their actions. You can’t appeal to their morals, because these people do not have any.
