Half the nation won't even share space with the other half because they've been told by teachers and the media that having different opinions and beliefs is racist, oppressive, and evil.

It starts with words and, if not stopped, progresses. Because, being emotionally children they have no idea how to control their anger and where the lines are.

You explained, perfectly, why we need more open carry. It’s educational and it is calming to others, that’s why police carry openly.
Telegraphing? Your assumption that open carry is equal to a first punch, is kind of a stretch to tag open carry with that.
The more the muddy middle sees people, normal people, carrying openly the less likely those folks, the muddy middle, will buy into the left’s narrative that guns are so dangerous and evil that you cannot be in a room safely if a gun is present.
For the record, I have a CCW and have had one for 45 years. I never leave the confines of my home without it. I rarely carry openly, even though I live in an open carry state, but when I do it’s for the reason I stated in the second sentence of the first paragraph.

Many times there's no alignment with platforms, candidates jump on whatever team gets them there-- all to partake in the slop trough that is DC.
We often don't even expect or care if a candidate has the right ideas to change things--they're on my team and I'm voting team, not policy.
We've quit voting country and we vote red team/blue team... teams that continually look for ways to rile us up and divide.

Have someone in need turn him in to the irs for the reward.
Have your phone ready to video. Whip it out and start recording. That will often send them scurrying away. In the few cases it doesn’t, they are so unhinged that you get millions of views after it is posted.

As a country we’ve definitely hit a rough patch, but are we doomed?
It may be human nature to feel doomed when you’re really not. OTOH, there are times when you are in fact well and truly doomed, so you can’t just totally toss out the possibility. Bottom line is that judging doomedness is a tricky business and may require more perspective than we’re capable of.
Given the uncertainty, maybe it’s best to proceed on the basis that you’re not doomed. Otherwise you may become demoralized and take actions that bring about your doom (or fail to take actions that would have avoided it). We are players in a dynamic system...what if the risk of creating a self-fulfilling prophesy is the true main risk?
Whatever the case, the question of whether our best days are behind us is definitely “in the air” these days.
