Several prominent media publishers across the U.S. are dropping the Dilbert comic strip after its creator described people who are Black as members of "a racist hate group" during an online video show.

Various media officials denounced the comments by Dilbert creator Scott Adams as racist, hateful and discriminatory, while saying they would no longer provide a platform for his work.

FWIW, repeating now this OGINJ comment from yesterday:

__________

Watched as much of this interview of Adams by Hotep Jesus as OGINJ could stand in an attempt to get to the right perspective on what Adams is doing (Today, in his personal live stream, Adams recommended that interested individuals watch this interview of him by Hotep Jesus in order to get the necessary “context”):

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oeFA-n3SMRw

Adams wants to be perceived as having his tongue firmly planted in his cheek.

Adams wants to be perceived as being intentionally provocative.

Adams wants to be perceived as employing satire.

Adams is left wing.

Adams flatly opposes CRT.

Adams claims, without irony, to support affirmative action for minority, so-called disadvantaged, groups, including most notably blacks.

Adams is, once again, without a hint of irony, strongly recommending that young blacks who wish to set themselves up for success take full advantage of affirmative action, by exploiting EID initiatives at fortune 500 companies. In this way he seem as if, were he asked, he would promptly confess, with the straightest of faces, to be a personal admirer of Kamala Harris, and if anyone else who freely takes what is on offer for any and all reasons having nothing to do with individual merit, honesty and integrity.

Adams is, for example, not recommending that young blacks eschew affirmative action and pursue a career defined not by skin color but by the content of one’s character, a lá, for example, Clarence Thomas.

Adams is nakedly playing footsie with Hotep Jesus, who, if the 45 minutes this commenter managed to get through is sufficient to convey his basic perspective, is flat out saying that blacks, if they know what’s good for themselves, should hew to their own (that is, radically self-segregate) in an unapologetic and un-self-conscious group effort to seek and obtain economic and social power in the medium and long term, race relations as a goal, in and of itself, be damned.

Adams could, by saying, with a straight face as a white man, that he 100% supports affirmative action, quotas and EID for blacks and other minorities, in order to convey that he 100% opposes those very same things, at least when it comes to the long term. But he is leaning almost 100% in the direction of sarcasm.

Sarcasm is is a low art that intelligent adults know id much more likely to yield chaos and destruction in the medium term than understanding and cooperation in the short term.

Bottom line is, Adams may think he is being satirical and productive, when in reality he is being sarcastic and destructive. In thinking he is among the best at cooking up and delivering satire, when in fact he is only delivering sarcasm, he is nothing better than a modern-day Alanis Morissette, who in her time thought she was remarking on irony, but instead was cataloging mere coincidences.

Also, for what it’s worth, Adams, by saying he’s “left wing”, and by saying he’s “liberal”, is virtue signaling. He’s too old to get away with saying such things. Dig Winston Churchill up and ask him—he’ll tell you the same thing.

But Adams is not stating what he knows in his heart to be true.

He is not stating what he thinks.

Hotep Jesus in his interview of Adams accused him of trolling. Adams did not deny it.

Adams appears to be reacting to the poll, acting as if he believes that half of blacks are simmering with barely concealable rage with every white that comes within five feet of them.

Adams is probably trying to put the onus on blacks who do not fit that description to condemn and marginalize those that do.

I am taking Mark Twain’s advice now concerning “arguing with a fool”.

Have a pleasant day.

Scott was a PacBell employee in the late 80s. IT department. I was as well. His cartoons first appeared inside the company and often lampooned internal managers. We all laughed. We knew who was the subject of the cartoon. It worked so well that he retained the meme and took it public. I was at UseNIX when he wandered through the area where I was standing. A bunch of people got on their knees and started chanting "We're not worthy". I knew of his work, but had never encountered him in person. It was a pretty funny scene. Eventually the company management had a "come to Jesus" meeting with Scott. He would have to decide whether his career would be in PacBell IT or doing cartoons. The rest is history. Scott chose wisely.

I cannot even imagine what a pain an electric VW-Porsche-Audi would be. Why in God’s green earth would you throw your money away for an electric VW?

I purchased a 1974 Porsche 914. It's a money pit. I did what I could on my own. Replaced the muffler with a Bursch product. Installed stainless steel heat exchangers (there were none on the car when purchased). Add stainless steel braided brake lines. Replaced the shifter housing parts (disintegrated. A weird composite. Easy replacement). Replaced the clutch cable after it broke in afternoon busy hour traffic.

Some items were beyond my experience. The right CV joint failed in motion. Sounded like an attack with "BBs" on the firewall. The throttle return spring broke on the way home. I was doing 80 MPH on a dark windy road with throttle nearly wide open. Turned the key off and coasted to a stop. It took 4 hours to get a tow truck. The CV joint and throttle spring repair were done by a Porsche factory trained service shop. A real wallet flattener. The last straw in San Diego was when I turned the key and the fuel pump started. Suddenly there was gasoline everywhere. The MTBE in the gasoline destroyed all of the rubber fuel hoses. It was not only expensive to replace the hoses. There was some damage to the fuel injectors and "brain box". Black Forest in San Diego restored it to perfect function.

I sold the car to a friend in 2008 in Idaho. He likes to twist wrenches. I encountered him at the grocery store subsequent to the sale. He asked if I was aware that the black rubber on the front bumper starts to peel at 110 MPH. I never took the car faster than 85, so that was news. The owner before me used the car for slalom competitions. It was very fast, very nimble. The performance was never a disappointment. The maintenance was beyond my budget. The car is now in the hands of a guy who does professional grade restorations. He has the skill and resources to make it like new again.

The majority of black people are the most racist hateful people in this country.

My girlfriend is Ethiopian and has a pretty dim view of most native born-American blacks. And native borns can't stand her because she's an articulate and successful Ivy League grad.

Still, nobody in the world is as racist as the Han.

Nobody.

Consider not crassly insulting people. Even if you suspect they are fools who lack character.

See what that gets you.

"We can always go to dilbert.com."
I read htpps://dilbert.com every morning first thing as part of my waking up ritual. Sometimes I have to click on it twice in my bookmarks to avoid turning off my ad blocker.

Oh I see. Well, depends on whether the word Black is capitalized to describe a person’s skin color in the middle of a sentence. If that’s the case then its appropriate to use White to describe a person’s skin color in the middle of a sentence. Otherwise, all lower case.
