Joy Behar told her co-hosts Thursday on ABC’s “The View” that residents of East Palestine, OH, who are suffering in the aftermath of a train derailment that caused hazardous materials to leak into the environment, voted for former President Donald Trump “who reduces all safety” with deregulation.
Behar said, “Can we talk about regulations for a second? Because It seems to me the Republicans are obsessed with the notion of the free market, and they don’t like a lot of regulations.”
Co-host Sara Haines said, “Because it means profit. If they deregulate, they get more profit.”

It’s hard to say who’s worse, Behar or the people at Breitbart and FR who post as about her.
Behar is perpetuating a lie.
Like she cares of even likes these people.
So then, people there should be shocked and awed and regretful of who they voted for. If only these people would have voted for good Democrats, then their Community would not suffer from an environmental disaster from a train derailment?
Is this really the thought process of Joy Behar? Maybe I just misunderstand what she’s trying to say.
If something goes wrong, to some people, it is always Trump’s fault. Can we say something is Obama’s fault? Nope, that would be racist, even if it was true.
She is one nasty woman that wears her nastiness for all to see. What man in his right mind would be anywhere near her?
And it took over 2 yrs before it came into effect < /sarcasm >.
ABC news made the same claim and then very quietly added that there was no evidence the lessening of regulations was at all involved in the accident.
Behar needs to be punched in the mouth repeatedly for lying and deliberately spreading those lies to Millions of Americans who the media liars keep in the dark.
This incident is not just affecting Palestine, OH. When people start getting sick far down stream, start dying like the fish, the farmlands become worthless, she’s going to need a much larger security detail, along with all the usual suspects that have been recorded telling these Americans to pound sand.
Did they happen to mention what exact regulations were removed?
I see Behar got her fax from DNC Headquarters.
“Surveillance video from a residence showed what appears to be a wheel bearing in the final stage of overheat failure moments before the derailment,” the NTSB said. Jennifer Homendy addressed misinformation spreading about the derailment on Twitter. Homendy directly acknowledged that the ECP brake rule would not have prevented the crash if implemented because the train that derailed in East Palestine was a mixed freight train that contained only three placarded Class 3 flammable liquids cars. Homendy said the ECP braking rule would have applied only to high-hazard flammable trains.
This is the person who said Republicans gained US Senate seats in 2018 due to “gerrymandering” so her knowledge as to public policy should be considered...limited, to say the least.
