Ukraine is at war. They are under attack. They are drafting all military aged men to fight the attacker. Ethnicity shouldn't matter in Ukraine's draft just like it didn't matter in our draft after Japan attacked us.

I realize that the history of the area is very complex. But if I am an ethnic Hungarian/Romanian whose family has lived in what is now Ukraine for generations, am I somehow not a Ukrainian citizen? Should my last name exempt me from the draft?
My dad and uncles’ Danish last name did not exempt them from service in WWII.
Er, if you are a citizen of a country then you can get drafted by that country no matter where your ancestors came from.
I would say that Ukraine is Hungary for soldiers, but this isn’t a laughing matter.
All bros here, legal or illegal have to register for the draft. I expect most countries to have a similar sop. I’m unsure how many illegals got sent to Vietnam.
