While President Biden was in Ukraine on Monday, Russia tested an intercontinental ballistic missile that appears to have failed, according to a report.
US officials told CNN on Tuesday that Russia used a deconfliction line to notify the US in advance of the missile test, which reportedly did not pose a risk to the country.
According to the officials, the US did not view the test as an anomaly or an escalation.
The test was of a nuclear-capable heavy SARMAT missile, dubbed Satan II by NATO, and classified as a “superweapon” by the head of Russia’s aerospace research agency.
US officials believe the test failed since Russian President Vladimir Putin did not mention it in his State of the Nation address Tuesday.

Because it was intended as a warning shot against the U.S. but the missile literally blew up in the Russians' faces.

Recommend you cool it with the PERSONAL ATTACKS. I made a comment because of something REALLY STUPID coming from the Neocons, particularly if one reads between the lines that the missile flew its flight plan, since that plan was given to the US prior (as stated in the article) and NOT disputed by the Neocons, yet the lack of ONE SENTENCE causes the Neocons to claim it failed.
So why make a baseless claim unless it supports a larger agenda?
I noticed they also recently pushed the idea that Russias nuclear arsenal was full of duds, presumably to embolden the idea of a winnable conflict.
It’s probably true, to a degree, but Russia has always followed the “quantity has a quality all its own” approach. So they launch 1000. Even assuming 90% failure rate, the world is over.

Unlike you French guys, English is my NATIVE LANGUAGE and nowhere in that article does it say anything about the missile blowing up.

I don’t think I believe the story. It’s what they call a pat story. Too convenient. Of all the days in a year to test a missile, the one day that Joe Biden goes to Ukraine, the Russians decide to test one. Right. Besides the Russians are good enough at launching missiles that American astronauts ride them into orbit. So I don’t believe it for a second.
Now, Joe can go around the country telling the story of how he was almost nuked.
