Revealed: Leaked document shows how Russia plans to take over Belarus

A leaked internal strategy document from Vladimir Putin’s executive office and obtained by Yahoo News lays out a detailed plan on how Russia plans to take full control over neighboring Belarus in the next decade under the pretext of a merger between the two countries. The document outlines in granular detail a creeping annexation by political, economic and military means of an independent but illiberal European nation by Russia, which is an active state of war in its bid to conquer Ukraine through overwhelming force.

“Russia’s goals with regards to Belarus are the same as with Ukraine,” Michael Carpenter, the U.S. ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, told Yahoo News. “Only in Belarus, it relies on coercion rather than war. Its end goal is still wholesale incorporation.”

According to the document, issued in fall 2021, the end goal is the formation of a so-called Union State of Russia and Belarus by no later than 2030. Everything involved in the merger of the two countries has been considered, including the “harmonization” of Belarusian laws with those of the Russian Federation; a “coordinated foreign and defense policy” and “trade and economic cooperation … on the basis of the priority” of Russian interests; and “ensuring the predominant influence of the Russian Federation in the socio-political, trade-economic, scientific-educational and cultural-information spheres.”

This was also the original plan for Ukraine. The so-called “coup” in 2014 was just the Ukrainian people raising up against Yanukovych’s attempt to implement it.

Pathetic.
I’m guess you wrote this article. It reads like something you’d dream up.

“Revealed: Leaked document shows how Russia plans to take over Belarus”

Seems to me that the Neocons wouldn’t be creating this document unless their claims of Russia taking over Europe (which was their basis for sticking their noses into Ukraine) are now being laughed at...so start trying to make the same claim regarding Belarus.

It will, if their puppet dies or is credibly threatened by internal unrest.

Ukraine ping

Article about how the pending union between Russia and Belarus that has been pending for almost 3 decades will be pending for at least another decade. Given that Putin is up to his eyeballs in alligators, thanks to the huge resources taken up by the stalemated invasion of Ukraine, this is one more pie-in-the-sky agenda on top of decades of such plans always artfully batted away by Luka. Kamil Galeev on why Luka keeps batting his eyelashes at Russia’s rulers, but somehow manages to keep them at arm’s length:

I suggest you go visit Europe and take a look.
The answers are way too extensive, one would have to write a deep dive paper.
Let me just say the EU is not mandating education in Basque.
Too much here is said in ignorance.

The U.S.S.R. never went away, they just closed for renovations and re-opened under a new name.

So Russia wants to follow up Iraq being invaded, Obama sending troops into Syria, bombing Yemen, Biden putting boots on the ground in Somolia, etc, etc?

BTW, the Bush administration has one better than this so-called leaked document:

They have a defecting Iraqi scientist who says Saddam has a substantial nuclear weapons program, thus Cheney is right and there will bw mushroom clouds over American cities!

Well I was being somewhat facetious. Motives are different.
Obviously the EU was not forced by military might, but there was a great deal of coercion, economic and political. Much political power shifted to Brussels. Of course different cultures would take different approaches. Washington DC is trying its best to mandate education, policing, even speech...
