In January 2016, the Republican Party tapped Nikki Haley to deliver its response to former president Barack Obama's State of the Union address.

As she gave the party's response, she attacked Trump for his views on illegal immigration.  Although Haley refrained from mentioning Trump by name, she said:

During anxious times, it can be tempting to follow the siren call of the angriest voices[.] ... We must resist that temptation.  No one who is willing to work hard, abide by our laws, and love our traditions should ever feel unwelcome in this country.

According to a RealClearPolitics poll, 47% of Republicans support Trump to become the 2024 presidential nominee.  Less than 4% of them support Haley.

Trump hired Haley as his UN ambassador long after 2012 - if he didn't hold it against her then, why does he expect us to care about it now? Haley is a little above Larry Hogan and Christopher Sununu in my estimation, but I'd never want her as the GOP nominee and would never vote for her in a primary unless the only alternatives were people like Hogan and Sununu. But she owes Trump nothing and has every right to run.

I agree, but illegal entry to our country (including trespassing anywhere on our borders, including unlawful bypassing of routes at transportion terminals) is action to not abide by our laws.

Regarding our traditions, there are many, of which, that are now too many being bashed by the powers that support illegal entry to our country. So there tends strongly to be, the intent of supporters of illegal entry plus illegal entrants, to disdain, ignore, and sometimes detest our worthy American heritage and traditions.

I wish for Nikki Haley and for Candace Owen, that they continue to study American History - especially the founding and principles. Limited government; democratic-republic; three federal branches that are not equal thirds (Congress has the greatest power); rights not only with regard to race; Bill of Rights are not only 1, 5, and sometimes 4; etc. - such as judges and lawyers are not authorized to be despots.
