Howdy, beachy! *HUGZ*

It was a dreary, calm day here until 6:30 this evening when the tornado siren went off. That storm lost ALL of its steam before it got here, though, and all we got was rain and a little wind.
It was a bit wild in other areas of TN and I’d contacted a couple of friends in areas under the gun to check on them. Got one’s voice mail and left a message and he just called back to say everything’s a-ok there. My other friend got lucky too.

All’s well here for the moment. Everything going well up your way?

You have a good eye and a great location for finding nature shots.

You can do only so many sand and cactus photos. LOL!

Howdy, Kathy.

Did you make it to and from your appointments with little trouble today?

Cleansed Completely

Bible in a Year:

All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags.

Isaiah 64:6

Recently, my wife and I were cleaning our house before having guests over. I noticed some dark stains on our white kitchen tile floor—the kind that required getting on my knees to scrub.

But I soon had a sinking realization: the more I scrubbed, the more I noticed other stains. Each stain I eliminated only made the others that much more obvious. Our kitchen floor suddenly seemed impossibly dirty. And with each moment, I realized, No matter how hard I work, I can never get this floor completely clean.

Scripture says something similar about self-cleansing—our best efforts at dealing with sin on our own always fall short. Seeming to despair of God’s people, the Israelites, ever experiencing God’s salvation (Isaiah 64:5), the prophet Isaiah wrote, “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags” (v. 6).

But Isaiah knew there is always hope through God’s goodness. So he prayed, “You, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter” (v. 8). He knew that God alone can cleanse what we cannot, until the deepest stains are “white as snow” (1:18).

We can’t scrub away the smudges and smears of sin on our souls. Thankfully, we can receive salvation in the One whose sacrifice allows us to be cleansed completely (1 John 1:7).

Reflect & Pray

Why is it hard to accept God’s forgiveness? Why do you think you’re tempted to try to deal with sin on your own?

Father, help me to rest in Your forgiveness instead of trying to earn what You’ve already freely given.

No spring yet...but we had one whole day, yesterday, with not a flake of snow. And I have about 5’ of snow in my front yard.

And it’s supposed to start snowing again overnight. *sigh* I have quite enough already, thank you.

Stay dry!

Good evening, luvie...

Some bright sun today, then spitting snow, and now they say more snow tonight....
before it warms up and makes ice (I hope "they" are wrong!)

When the “Greatest Generation” passed through North Platte, Nebraska during WWII, they got a hug & a handshake, homemade cakes & cookies, & a moment of respite & prayer provided by thousands of volunteers from the surrounding communities.

Crazy weather for all of us, it seems.

The last tornado warning for TN was for a storm coming HERE this evening. Fortunately, it fizzled out quickly and all we got was rain. It hasn’t stopped raining since.
Tomorrow, we get some snow.

I hope it doesn’t warm up enough to turn all that snow to ice, Kathy! That would really be a mess! Bad enough now!

Good evening, radu...there will be NO tornados coming to your property!! Rain? OK, but NO tornados!

We are supposed to get more snow starting in the night....I am not happy, but at least I don’t have to go out.

Totally a roller coaster! Right now it’s 30 degrees. Monday, it’s supposed to get up to nearly 80! Boggles the mind.

Glad the tornadoes fizzled before they reached you, radu! And, Kathy, when I was watching the Lake Hood cam early this afternoon, it was snowing again. LOL! Glad you got some sunshine, too, though.

LOL I have to say I was startled when the siren went off. I thought it was all over and was getting ready to slap a little supper together at the time. Thank goodness the spin-up fizzled fast. I’ve been through two tornados here and that’s MORE than enough.

You sure don’t need any more snow up there! As much as there is now, it is going to be a real mess when it thaws.
I guess one upside is they won’t have to truck snow in for the beginning of the Iditarod this year.

It’s still fairly warm here at 52 but once the rain moves out in an hour or two, the bottom will drop out. Supposed to drop to 30 or so, then stay in the 30s tomorrow with wind chill in the 20s. Back in the 60s Sunday and the 70s by mid-week next week.

I groaned when I pulled up the Lake Hood cam and saw snow. At least it wasn’t white-out this time.
Then I pulled up Ryan Hall and stayed with his stream the rest of the day as he covered the weather.

Were you watching the Lake Hood cam yesterday when that cute little robot helped to steer a small plane out of the hanger, and then it just turned around and parked itself back inside. I had to show it to hubby. I’d never seen one of those before! LOL!
