Democratic lawmaker with ties to ‘defund the police’ movement calls for crackdown on crime following assault

Noting DC let the repeat offender off with light sentences, Rep. Craig asked, 'what the hell do you think's gonna happen?'

Democratic Congresswoman Angie Craig, who was allegedly assaulted in the elevator of her Washington, D.C. residence by a 26-year-old man named Kendrid Hamlin, has been tied to the "defund the police" movement.

One of Craig’s top staffers, Liz Young, has spoken out against the police and even called for property destruction on her Twitter account, according to a Washington Free Beacon report from last year.

In 2020, Young responded to news about deaths related to police in New York with four words: "Burn. It. All. Down."

Young also claimed in June 2020 that cities should "fund counselors, not cops," and has also promoted the Minnesota Freedom Fund, a far-left group that supports the defunding of the police.

But since then, Young's boss, who has herself attended fundraisers of groups tied to the defund the police movement, according to the Free Beacon, has made repeated calls for a stronger law enforcement policy.

The change came soon after Craig said she was assaulted in an elevator in her Washington, D.C. apartment complex.

A sure sign of lack of intelligence is when you can’t understand something till it happens to you.

Another example of how the huge number of neurotic, senile and demented women elected and appointed to offices of power and influence is destroying the country. Never before has an advanced civilization like America placed so many women in power. In the rare historic instances where women had achieved undue influence in government affairs, usually catastrophe followed. Events over the last fifty years has demonstrated that giving women the vote and political power was a very bad idea

It sounded like a good idea while waiting in her Starbuck’s line.

They didn't notice the footnote to her statement. Burn it all down (as long as its not in my neighborhood).

Right. The problem, like all liberal fantasies, is that it didn’t go far enough to actually work.

Not “defund” the police — get rid of entirely. Don’t bother with social workers (that is just a place to stuff a gender studies grad). Just get rid of all totalitarian gov’mt control.

Then, wait. Give it a week.

The only thing of value in that entire town is the basement of the Smithsonian museum. Let the rest of it burn. Especially all of the bureaus.

Fragment the gov’mt and put all of the bureaus in separate towns across the country — and move entirely every 2-3 years.

A swamp can’t survive if it is regularly drained.

“Reaping what she was sewing . . . and such fools are dragging us all over the cliff with them. . . .”

The 64k question we have to ask ourselves is... Why are we letting them?

If I defend myself and take down my assailant that has already been coddled by the court system, the court’s “retribution” against me, by design, is far more severe than for the assailant who attacked me. Why? Those influencing government want chaos in the streets and they want the resilient and self-reliant gone. Preferably to them, they will make us dead, but locking us up will do. We are letting them because we know for a fact we are under attack and they are just looking for a way to be rid of our kind.

Exactly. The government would consider it a 2fer. One criminal gone and one self-reliant citizen who protected themself.

“We are letting them because we know for a fact we are under attack and they are just looking for a way to be rid of our kind.”

So what do we do? Let them exterminate us without a fight?

It’s true that the system has become our biggest enemy. We better find a way to destroy it or take over it or we’ll be forever persecuted.

As things are right now, we just keep taking it, and they’re more than happy to keep dishing it out.
