Nolte: Democrats Pass Laws to Destroy Suburbs
Breitbart ^ | 13Feb | Nolte

In the name of “equity,” the Biden administration and state Democrats have declared war on the suburbs:

The Biden administration and Democrats in New York, Connecticut and other states are fighting local zoning laws in order to build high-rise apartment buildings with “affordable” units in tree-lined, single-family neighborhoods. All in the name of equity, meaning everyone can live in a tranquil suburb, whether they’ve earned the money to pay for it or not.

The Biden administration announced Jan. 19 that it will require all towns across the U.S. to submit “Equity Plans” showing how they will make it possible for low-income people to live there by providing affordable housing, transportation and other resources.

Towns that don’t meet the cookie-cutter requirement for economic diversity will lose federal funding.

The plan is crime—it is called blackmail and extortion—obey or starve.

Destroy your town or we will destroy you.

They are not trying to fake it any more.

Nothing like section 8 housing right next door to raise the tone of the neighborhood, enhance property values, and decrease crime.

NY is a pretty Republican state.

Trees, fields, and black flies don't vote. So I would say real estate is political party neutral, but the population is definitely heavily skewed to Democrat. NY had a Biden vote of 61% beaten only by HI, MA, MD, and of course DC which had an incredible 92% voting for Biden.

My city has joined the bandwagon. Lots of Dems are even pissed. There’s a bi-partisan group of us who are fighting the liberal leaders.

““high-rise apartment buildings with “affordable” units Sure is a fancy way to say future crime ridden ghetto.”

Want to know what it will look like? Go to the South Side of Chicago.

I’m thinking that it will depend on the zip code. If they’re in one of the wealthy areas, then probably not.

If they’re not, oh well.

Won’t just be black folks.

Think of all the developers that have our politicians in their hip pocket, at every level.

5,000,000 and counting, coming over the border. Lets say half are women, pop out a citizen or two, and VOILA...Section 8 and SNAP. And before anyone wants to chime in about illegals not being eligible, you’re right. The illegal mother isn’t eligible. But the citizen she popped out is eligible.

Isn’t that the point of the article?

The feds are going to force the building of the high rises on places that don’t want them.

Allow the building or lose money. Simple extortion.

My brother still lives up there.

During the covid crap, wealthy folks from NYC were buying up houses all over Long Island and the counties north of the city and Westchester. Sight unseen for many of them. Full price offers and above.

A neighbor his sold his house in a day. The guy never even came to look at it. Offer...offer accepted...please move out in 30 days....Guy was getting ready to retire anyway and was gone.

These Fedgov/State socialists have lost their minds. Are they unaware of what the illegals are doing to free housing in the upscale hotels in NYC?

They don’t care. They aren’t the ones paying the bills or suffering the consequences. They live miles away.

This ideology is no different than the riots in 2020. The minute some rioters showed up in the neighborhood where the Seattle mayor lived, the cops were there in a minute and rioters were gone. Of course, downtown was a disaster, but who cares.

And yet, many “educated” folks still vote for them. Because it’ll never effect them, until it does.

All one has to do is look to places like Portland and Minneapolis. Liberals voting for liberal policies. When those policies are disasters, they keep voting for more but then put For Sale signs up, thinking someone would buy their home. And if they’re lucky enough to sell, they just start destroying the next place.

It’s skewed, for sure, but all of that weight is in a few places compared to the size of the state. No different than Washington, Oregon, Cali, Illinois, Nevada, NM, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin(which almost has a veto proof Republican majority in their state legislature), Penn, NJ.

Run a state election where each county gets the same number of votes, like an Electoral College, you’d have Republican Governors in all but 2 or 3 states.

Fight like your life depends on it—because it may down the road.

Don’t waste time being polite—the future muggers in town won’t be.

Maywood ? Was nearly 100% White in the 1960s. As of 2010, it was 95%+ Hispanic and only 498 Whites (not even 2%) in the city. Probably even lower now.

Correction: When King retired, Republican Andrew Garbarino took his seat in 2021. Santos took Rick Lazio’s old district, which hadn’t elected a Republican since 1998.
