DeSantis edges closer to 2024 decision

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is on the cusp of making a final decision on a 2024 presidential run.

Several Republicans familiar with the deliberations say that DeSantis is almost certain to seek the GOP’s presidential nomination. His advisers have begun reaching out to and interviewing potential hires for a campaign and are gaming out the best time to announce his intentions.

A formal campaign launch is still months away, they say, and won’t likely come until after the state legislature wraps up its regular session in May. Two sources familiar with the plans said that the Florida governor could announce his presidential bid as early as late May or early June.

“I think his mind is pretty much made up at this point,” one Republican operative said. “My read on it is: Let’s get through session, get some stuff done and see where things stand. But unless something changes drastically between now and then, I’d say he’s a go.”

Behind the scenes, DeSantis’s advisers have also begun actively laying the groundwork for a national campaign, reaching out to potential hires as they look to staff up his political operation. Among those involved in the preparations are Phil Cox and Generra Peck, two veteran DeSantis campaign aides.

Another Republican with ties to DeSantis said that “this is his moment.” While the Florida governor has been floated as a potential presidential hopeful for years, he gained even more momentum after scoring a staggering 19-point win in his November reelection bid — a margin that hasn’t been seen in a Florida gubernatorial race in four decades.

“He needs to seize the opportunity now because who knows what things will look like down the road,” the person said. “He has the momentum

Who cares? President Trump or nothing.

even if Trump loses in the primary?
even if Trump continues to push the vax?
even if Trump continues to support the swamp dwellers?

thats not a guy I want to support. Sorry. I’ll vote for him if he makes it to the general because he’s better than anyone the rats can throw up but we can do better.

JFK and Clinton had flaws. But they weren’t that bad for Democrats. Obama. Different story. But for 6 years, Republican Congress blocked him so that limited his damage.

I'll only vote for Ron DeSantis after his personal residence is raided by the FBI and he's run through the wringer the Trump has been.

Trump has all the right enemies. DeSantis has all the wrong friends.

I guess I'll vote. But it'll be like voting for Romney. A guy who has no chance. That's not what we want. The Democrats want to run against Trump because he's now our designated loser.

DeSantis is almost certain to seek the GOP's presidential nomination.

If he was smart he would have waited in 2028.

>> Since when do we trust leftwing blogs like the Hill to tell us about republican’s plans?

But they have “Republicans familiar with the deliberations”.
AND electrolytes!

The Hill — part of the NYT idiocracy since 2021!

And it appears to Santa’s doesn’t care much about the fraud in the elections as he’s touting the attorney who is defending Dominion voting systems amongst other Wicked entities like Pfizer. I don’t know enough about DeSantis yet to really say one way or the other but I do not think he should run against Trump in 24

Donald Trump was cheated out of his re-election.

His first term was basically hamstrung and blocked by even people inside his own administration.

If ever there was a presidential candidate in which all the other candidates should get out of the way and coronate him, it's Trump.

DeSantis is still young, he's only 45 years old, he'll be 50 when he runs in 2028. His wife is recovering from breast cancer and his kids are still young.

Why would he want to go through this, assuming if this is true?

If it weren't for Trump, Ron wouldn't be Governor right now. FL would be getting destroyed by wokeness run by a bisexual meth abusing Governor.

Unfortunate that anyone other than Trump will cause a civil war in the Republican Party.

Whoever wins will be severely wounded. Republicans SHOULD stay with Trump since he actually WON THE LAST ELECTION. The Republican Primary should be a coronation, and he should spend all that time traveling the country getting Republicans elected with him.

This is America, we don’t coronate anyone. Would you be happy if we anointed him king?

So is the media gonna pump desantis up and portray him as an angel until he beats Trump then instantly turn on a dime and proclaim him oranger and badder than Trump ever was afterwards?
