How’s that going to help his case? The ensign will simply say he was following orders from the officer above him and that officer will in turn say somebody above him gave the orders and so on.
In the end, the buck has to stop with Biden as CIC, or we all eventually know that he isn’t really in charge ( but you knew that ).

I won’t argue against that. But Hersh is also probably the last investigative reporter left in the country. And he has done some excellent work in the past. So for now I’ll cautiously give him a bit of leeway, and wait for more evidence.
This admin is poking the bear while weakening our country at every level. None of this makes any sense.

Absolutely true. And the old-time press would have demanded that. But today’s lapdog press will look for some reason - any reason - to get Biden off the hook. We have seen that many times in the past.
So maybe it’ll be a fall guy. Or maybe the evidence will be labeled “insufficient” or “simply rumors”. Whatever. That’s what viewers of the nightly news will be told, if they are told anything at all. And so Biden will skate again.
