Will The GOP House have the courage to pursue agencies that refuse to comply with subpoenas?

Leadership of House Committees of the 118^th Congress have announced plans to investigate previously unchecked Administration activities or inactivity, including the Administration’s handling of the border crisis. The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) reported in August 2022 that nearly 4.9 million immigrants had entered the United States since Joe Biden took office. At that rate, at least 11 million immigrants will pour into the into the country during this administration’s four-year term. This is compared to the 12 million that passed through Ellis Island in its full 152 years (1802-1954) of operation.

The House leadership is also acting to investigate the DOJ’s discrepancies in handling of Joe Biden’s and Donald Trump’s possession of classified records. Already, the National Archives has declined to fully cooperate with the House Committees, deferring to Federal Investigators, and DOJ has refused to produce requested documentation even though they were quick to produce documentation for the Democrat-run January 6 investigation committee.

On February 5, 2023, Constitutional attorney Mark Levin on his television show, “Life, Liberty, and Levin,” explained that such unresponsiveness to the authority of Congress by the FBI, the Attorney General, Treasury Department, and National Archives threatens America’s balance of powers and our governmental system.

Mr. Levin said that, for Congress, “it is one thing to investigate. It is another to issue subpoenas. And still another to enforce its authority.” He concludes that Congress has the constitutional authority to call witnesses before their committees and to subpoena documents. When other branches of the government, or anyone, stonewall Congress by refusing to comply with the authority of the representative arm of the government, it is incumbent upon Congress to exercise its “inherent contempt powers” to arrest the individuals for their contempt.

How many people who have been held in contempt of Congress are in jail?

Let me see.... from recent memory...

Eric Holder. RESULT: The Justice Department's Inspector General under Obama refused to prosecute him and later cleared him of the charges.

Louise Lerner: The Justice Department later determined that Lerner had not waived her Fifth Amendment rights and declined to seek an indictment on the charge.

Both are HAPPILY RETIRED and receiving their fat pensions.

The problem with Congress is they HAVE NO ENFORCEMENT POWERS.

The key mechanism is the zero out their budget. That will not be agreed to by the UniParty, but that is the solution. When the UniParty refuses, the next correct response is to “shutdown” the government, which is not really shutdown. Only a modest fraction would be shutdown. When the UniParty refuses to agree again, the correct response is to leave whatever is shutdown, down for the duration. Other than the UniParty (media) temper tamper, nobody will miss what is shutdown, and even if they do, it is worth it to the country to start the budget cutting.

Yes I read it. But nobody has answered my question — WHO IS GOING TO MAKE THE ARREST? ( IN OTHER WORDS, ENFORCE IT ).

Who will Kevin McCarty call to arrest the non-cooperating agency official without asking the DOJ (under Merrick Garland ) to send FBI agents to do it?

I mentioned the DOJ because previous officials who have been held in contempt were never jailed ( e.g. Eric Holder. Louise Lerner ).
