There is a difference between the original and counterfeit, but you probably need two pairs to see the difference. There is no problem to get the original from Turkey.

Except that Poland is giving away their armaments too.

A lot of NATO forces have been moved to forward positions, making a defense in depth contingency difficult at best. US air power in Europe is the only real advantage, but theoretically vulnerable to conventional hypersonic weapons destroying runways.

“So what? None of our business.”

That is what a lot of people said back in ‘39. This is our once in a lifetime chance to end Russian thuggery and see an end to the mugger of the human race.

An overused comparison and no justification for us to fight Russia.

“An overused comparison and no justification for us to fight Russia.”

Russia is still the same predatory, dangerous and aggressive country it was before the fall of Communism. It has been dangerous during the entire 20th century except for when Yeltsin ran it. Most of us do not want to go back to like it was in the cold war and we are willing to see it defeated and hopefully split up so it can never again threaten us or anyone else. If that is not a justification than what is?

Luckily for us, our statesmen from that era were astute enough not to risk it. Since 1945 we could have crushed them but it wasn’t worth the cost to us. Why are you so hot for war with Russia? The Cold War was not so bad for us.

I do not want a war with Russia/ I want to stop them from having a war with us and other peace loving freedom loving people. I do not want to go back to a stalemated cold war. I want this regime in Russia to be over and the Ukrainians just might be able to do it. And I think most sane people do not want to go back to it either.

You said it a few times to me. What is your “Once in a lifetime chance” then? Then you said Russia should be broken into smaller pieces. I’d say that is advocating war.

If you will notice there is a war going on now and it is the Ukraine fighting Russia. If Russia loses this war then they could very well break up and not be a threat again. It happened when the USSR died and it did not cause a war instead it caused a peace. Every other major country lives in peace with peaceful nations and there is no reason for Russia not to live in a peaceful way as well.

My, your tune has changed. The reality is Ukraine doesn’t have the military strength to defeat Russia. They can’t win an attritional fight, which is what is happening now. It is way past time for negotiations.

They have the military strength if we help them. And don’t forge they are fighting the Russians who are probably one of the most incompetent people on the face of the earth. There is no possibility of negotiations with a wolf who has no intention of living up to the agreements. Obviously, you know nothing of the history of Russia. any agreement would be an appeasement and you know how that goes. Russia is now getting smoked and when that happens the people of Russia usually rebel. When the master shows weakness the whipped cur rebels. That has been the history of Russia. Just look at its past. It is Russia that can’t fight an attritional war. Look at ww1, Russia-Japan, Crimea Afghanistan.

It is just better to let Ukraine fight Russia then us at some time. Unless of course you are actually a Russia posing as an American Conservative, are you?

It’s glaring that you failed to mention WWII, the biggest attritional battle of them all for Russia. Then you come up with the same old, same old. Accuse people in favor of peace negotiations of being Russian stooges. I’ve heard it before. Total fail for your part.

Yes ww11 was the only exception that I Know of. Of course when you have Stalin running the country that may have something to do with it. Russia does not live up to its agreements that is their history and we have seen it over and over right down the today. They are bound and determined to take over Ukraine. Putin says how much he misses “greater Russia.” They simply do not negotiate in good faith. They want to defeat Ukraine and that is what they are bound to do unless they are defeated for good.

With that attitude Nazi Germany and the Soviet union would of just rolled over Europe and then where would have been left? Take care of the bad guys ahead of time.

Not even then. That’s when Russia started the Transnistria war with Moldova. That’s after Stalin, of course, stole Moldova from Romania. Russia is well and truly a nation of bandits. It’s in their DNA. Now we pay for the mistakes of the 1990’s when Russia was not forcibly denazified in exchange for western aid they were begging for at the time.

Here we go again. Our border is the Rio Grande, not the Oskil.
