It began with a rumor.
Sir Maejor, an ethnically black actor and model with a fair complexion due to albinism, tweeted Monday that “I am being told that Tyre Nichols was in a relationship with and worked at a Memphis @FedEx with #MemphisPolice Demetrius Halys’s ex-girlfriend & baby mama.” Not only that, but “After the beating Officer Halys took a pictures of #TyreNichols face and sent it to his babymama.”
The following day, Maejor added a disclaimer in all caps: “THIS IS MERELY SPECULATIONS AND OR A RUMOR AT THIS POINT — THIS INFORMATION HAS NOT BEEN CONFIRMED.” This statement comported with what I assumed to be the case — that Twitter is full of unfounded rumors and nonsense, and that it was kind of tacky to be spreading stories about a man who had just suffered a horrific death.
And yet the very fact that a member in good standing of the black community would even post such a thing made me wonder if it might be true. So I dug a little bit and quickly found that the story was being reported by none other than Newsweek. Not only that, the outlet revealed that the Memphis Police Dept. (MPD) was investigating the issue:

That’s because the victim did not have a criminal record.
He was apparently just an ordinary person who landed a good job with FedEx.
IDK if he was high or not, only that the cops said he was.

It’s already been stated that the victim had no criminal record. The tox report from the ME is useless because Mr. Nichols was in ICU for three days before passing. The ER tox screen and medical records are far more germane.
This man died in hospital, so he has a death certificate signed by the attending physician with a cause of death on it.
The family stated he died of kidney failure and cardiac arrest, so I am assuming that is what the doctors told the family.
I think the cops may have injured his kidneys to the point of failure. He was a skinny guy with no body fat and not much muscle to absorb any of the force of the blows.
Blues never lie.

Yes it is, Since the Memphis PD has stated the reckless driving charge was fictional it would seem these men had staked the street as they knew the victim would be using it to get to get home. In other words an ambush. There has to be a reason. That would explain why Nichols was not ‘cooperative’ when stopped. He recognized one of the cops as his current GFs ex.

I read another article today the ex boyfriend may have taken photos after the beat down and sent them to the baby mamma.
I bet he’s happy to be here instead of Africa, where he would be murdered, and perhaps eaten, because of his albinism. Oh, that’s happened in jolly old England, too.
The version of Newsweek that exist online today is not the same aa the print version that existed for many decades.
I saw some news earlier today that one of the cops sent a picture of the beaten and dying Tyre to his ex-wife from the scene of the crime. Then it disappeared. Maybe it was fake news.
Either way, thug cops gonna thug cop.
