Kyle Rittenhouse, who skyrocketed to fame in right-wing circles after shooting and killing two protesters during a social rights march in 2020, is now facing a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the victim's father, according to PBS.
The lawsuit was filed by John Huber, the father of one of the two victims, and also includes city officials and police officers. U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman dismissed motions from the city officials, police officers and Rittenhouse to dismiss the civil rights case in its entirety.
Huber's lawsuit states that Rittenhouse conspired with police officers to intentionally cause harm to the protesters who were marching in reaction to the shooting of Jacob Blake, who was injured by a Wisconsin police officer.
Rittenhouse was a minor at age 17 at the time.
In the ruling Adelman said Huber's death "could plausibly be regarded as having been proximately caused by the actions of the government defendants. Huber was killed after Rittenhouse was running after he shot and killed his first victim in the parking lot of a car dealership and Huber hit Rittenhouse with a skateboard to disarm him. After falling to the ground Rittenhouse fatally shot Huber and wounded another protester Gaige Grosskreutz, who also has filed a civil lawsuit against Rittenhouse.
Huber's lawyers and private investigators needed over 100 hours to locate Rittenhouse to serve him with the civil lawsuit paperwork, eventually serving him at his sister's house. Rittenhouse's lawyers tried to argue the case should be dismissed because he was not properly served. The judge dismissed that claim.
Rittenhouse has become a popular Republican right-wing speaker at public events and has nearly 1 million followers on Twitter.
Correction: This story has been updated to reflect that Jacob Blake was shot and injured, but not killed, as originally reported.

So which one of the dead’s family is this one? The one that bashed Kyle in the head with the skateboard? The one that was charging him as he was leaving? Or the other one who attacked him?
This will be a circus and the atty will try to pack to jury with leftwingers to get a sympathetic verdict.
You are probably correct. I had to serve papers in 2001. To a scum who had no mailbox outside his house in Pompano Beach. It took three days but they served him. Can you believe it only cost me $14.
So young Kyle is the same. He was not evading being served papers. The process servers just had to find him. Which is child's play for them.
Has/Is the skateboard, in a secure evidence locker?? Was the board ever introduced, at Kyle’s trial”
Can it be produced, at court, as a lethal weapon, ie: modified? Was the edge of the board “shaved/sharpened”?
FReepers, this is why we don’t avoid jury duty.
IMO, Huber should have no standing.
It was Huber’s little bastard spawn that first attacked Rittenhouse with a deadly weapon, and Rittenhouse justifiably defended himself.
A skateboard is just as deadly as a hammer or other such improvised weapons.
They will say that when a random police officer gave Rittenhouse a bottle of water and thanked him earlier in the evening, that was proof of a conspiracy.

Don’t have the answers to your questions, but on many occasions during the ‘mostly peaceful protests’ by the idea, not group, Antifa, skateboards served a dual role. Weapons and a means to quickly escape. Skateboard guy looked pretty surprised when he found himself shot.
Corrupt judge. Film clearly shows Rittenhouse running away from an armed mob and then being assaulted by the guy he shot in self defense.
A jury found the guy shot in self defense. I am hopeful that can be entered into evidence.
Not one of those guys was an innocent bystander. But in civil cases you don’t need a unanimous jury…so maybe they can get 9 libs on the jury.
Standard of proof in a criminal case is “beyond a reasonable doubt”, in a civil case it is “the preponderance of the evidence”. In other words, findings made in a criminal trial preceding a civil trial, can negate a civil case because the standard of proof in the criminal action is more rigorous. This legal maxim is a form of Res Judicata (”the thing adjudicated”)
Thanks.
No bias by the author./sarc
Rosenbaum was a pedophile, not Huber, though the latter had a unsavory record himself.
This “journalist” as well.
“I failed in my duty to raise a responsible and moral child. He became a career criminal. Now he was killed by Kyle Rittenhouse. Oh well, I may as well make a pile of money from Rittenhouse in a civil suit.”
There...made it sound REALLY dramatic.
Jacob Blake is this generation’s Nelson Mandela. Democrats all think he’s dead.
“VICTIM-VICTIM-VICTIM”; the only victim in that whole mess was Rittenhouse, he was the VICTIM of 4 ATTEMPTED MURDERS, he was just a little bit better than the animals that attacked him!
PROG/LIB/DEMS are always telling us in the case of a civilian on DEM/ROBBER/ASSAULTER/CRIMINAL/MURDERER shooting that the civilian VICTIM should have stopped shooting once the DEM/ROBBER/ASSAULTER/CRIMINAL/MURDERER tried to run away.
Well in this case Rittenhouse WAS TRYING TO RUN AWAY, so why didn’t these thugs stop their assault on him and let the police deal with it.
Only if the losers have to pay the full cost of the lawsuit.
