‘We Have No Protection’: San Francisco Police Respond To Burglary Call Nearly 15 Hours Later

The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) did not respond to a burglary call for nearly 15 hours on Jan. 13 and its investigation into the incident still has not produced results, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Joe Vernieri, owner of the Black Magic Voodoo Lounge, reported a robbery of his bar to the SFPD’s Central Station at 1:06 p.m. but police did not respond until the next morning at 3:14 a.m., according to the Chronicle. Police opened an investigation into the robbery on Jan. 25, 12 days after the crime had been reported.

It’s becoming more like the wild west every day.
You have to arm up and make sure none of the robbers exit
the establishment alive.
Start doing that, and the potential robbers will get the
message.
The police can’t do it alone. The DAs are on the side
of the bad guys. The judges don’t have enough mental
faculties to get their job done.
We’re on our own folks.

On the bright side, with a 15 hour response time one could thoroughly “clean” everything up with bleach, dispose of several bodies and make sure every casing was accounted for.

In San Diego county area I am 1 mile from the local police station. The last few times I’ve dialed 911 I’ve received a text that they are currently busy and they don’t know when they’ll get here. Actual response time is over 45 minutes. By then the perp has disappeared. And when the police arrive I have to remember that they are not my friends.

Well, if the burglars were nice and decent folks, they would have waited for the police to respond, no matter how long they took. Just to make it fair.

Wasn’t very nice. The police have a tough go of it these
days. Some of these west coast cities must be a nightmare
to work in.
You make good busts where the officers are in extreme
danger, and judges let them out within a few hours.
I couldn’t handle it.
