You may have already heard about California Governor Gavin Newsom’s announcement last year that his state will ban the sale of gasoline-powered vehicles by 2035. Restrictions on how many non-electric vehicles can be sold will begin in just three years. This is making all of the climate alarmists very happy, of course, but there is a significantly large fly in the ointment of this plan. In order to charge up roughly 12.5 million EVs on a daily basis, the state will need to have a lot of electricity available on the power grid. But nobody seems to have run through all of the numbers with the Governor. Some people who actually did the math work with the Institute for Energy Research, and they have some bad news for Governor Newsom. The state’s plan is based on “a myriad of assumptions” about its electrical grid, and a lot of those assumptions are simply unrealistic in a very big way.

Bingo
that's simple enough to solve... put a hundred 100-watt solar panels on each vehicle...240 miles easy .../s
Book mark.
Whar a hoot these eco-idiot utopians are. Can you imagine millions of Californians zipping around in their EVs. While half the state is paved over with solar panels and wind farms to supply their electricity. Too bad there is zero solar generated electricity to charge them up at might.
Think about how ridiculous the left would be using ICE cars with carburetors as an example of how “bad” the gas mileage is in ICE cars. That’s how ridiculous we sound when we use 100W panels as the standard in an anti solar or EV statement.
We should stick to a message of government leaders not restricting our choices.
Just how are they going to inforce making everyone take mass transit ummm
yep
In giant population centers like LA, they’ll force the masses onto trains.
By making it too expensive to drive and they can regulate them right out of business. I can see at some point only the wealthy and well connected will own private vehicles. It makes it much easier to keep track of people when their freedom of movement is severely restricted. These people are all about control of everything.
Can’t fix Kalifornia,I mean stupid!
Kalifornicate’ya will not be paving their own land with solar and windmills.
What is not already developed is nearly all “Wilderness” or “Park lands” and untouchable.
No, they will speed up what they are already doing, building the same facilities that are too ugly or polluting for their OWN lands in adjoining states.
This is already underway, and the electricity is earmarked by contract exclusively for CA.
It’s really no different than their exporting land-fill operations.
I recently learned that these facilities are also short lived, a couple planned for construction near me will only operate for twenty-four years before being torn down.
Considering the millions in construction cost, such a short operational span can only mean there is a tax scam in the mix.
Even with these schemes there is no way CA can build or contract for enough, I am certain that they will lay claim to NV, AZ, OR, WA, UT, etc. power and the Fed. will go along with it.
So CA mandates will spread the brownouts to the entire western US until the system crashes hard enough to force reconsideration.
CA only gets away with this feculence due to their high population density.
The rest of us are spread too far apart for EV’s to ever work and outside of the major cities they are not going to happen in significant numbers.
So glad I live in a cow county!
Ok, by the all that crap happens I’ll be long gone.
Californicator is a totally failed state from every single angle, and it will bring down the rest of the country if not stopped.
>>>put a hundred 100-watt solar panels on each vehicle...240 miles easy .../s<<<
That is just plain silly; there’s not enough room. Instead just make the current 100W panels ten time more efficient! also /S
>>Too bad there is zero solar generated electricity to charge them up at might.<<
Just launch huge focused mirrors into orbit... /s
“Just how are they going to inforce making everyone take mass transit ummm”
______
Some cities in Europe are already designating some areas as “no private transportation” areas. They close streets to private transportation and designate them as “public transportation” only. Just as the “15 minute cities” where they financially penalize people for driving too many times and too many miles outside their designated zone.
A new law proposed by President Joe Biden is set to force automobile manufacturers to install “kill switches” in new vehicles by the year 2026. What could be the purpose of such a requirement?
I have seen your many posts. You are the exception. Plus your payout for your vast array of solar panels and storage aka batteries has been greatly Gov’t subsidized.
Am I right about the Gov’t subsidies?
I see two roofs that now have solar panels in my 300 home suburban development. No way would I allow any of these solar clowns to drill into my roof.
Anybody with half a brain will just install a “SWITCH” that bypasses the “kill switch”!
Preferably coal fired.
That's the intention. Crowd everyone up in the East half of the country in those 15 minute and mega cities.
Fedgov already owns half the West.
