The booms keep coming, heard and felt for miles around Blytheville, rattling windows and raising concerns, but nobody seems to know what’s causing them.
“The City of Blytheville and the Blytheville Police Department are aware of the recent bouts of ‘explosions,’” police said in a Facebook post. “We have received several calls about these occurrences, and find these events to be alarming and concerning.”
Residents of Blytheville, a town of more than 13,000 in the northeast corner of Arkansas, have some ideas of their own, maybe earthquakes, possibly undisclosed military activity, a potential Russian invasion, or “someone’s meth lab recipe went wrong,” comments read.
The apparent explosions are so powerful they’re shaking homes, including those in neighboring communities, people living in the area say.
“Glad someone (is) taking it seriously enough to let us know,” one person commented on the post.

Chipotle....................
Are there any food processing plants nearby?
I choose door #3, Monty...
Yikes
Has it been cold enough there for frost/freeze quakes?
I’m not saying it’s aliens…
An ex-wife came from near there. We were married in the 80’s. No jobs to be had.
Very depressing when you get out of the town. Nearly all of the houses needed to be torn down (including her parents’ house). There was a hole around the toilet and the only thing holding it up was the sewer pipe.
Maybe someone is tunneling under the town? DUMBs?
With Pooty those two are probably combined...
Strange things happen in Arkansas. A friend who lived there in the 1980’s told me about all sorts of odd things...people disappearing, decapitated bodies ruled as having died from natural causes, drugs flooding the state in massive quantities, etc.
It’s almost as if there were a witch at work there. Whoever could that be?
When our family moved to Fayetteville NC for a job, we had to get used to the Army firing artillery rounds at night which shook
Our house and rattled our windows during all hours of the night. Just sayin…
Fracking?
Clinton era Arkansas ... all a corner had to do was say suicide and there was no investigation.
I live near Aberdeen Proving Ground where they develop and test all sorts of things that go BOOM
A few years ago we had an earthquake and my wife thought it was just another explosion.
Too far away. Maybe the New Madrid Fault is getting ready to rumble.
Tannerite.
My initial thought, but actually DUMBS being cleared outof who/what-ever was down there, and then blown up and collapsed. FWIW.
I’d expect only one boom would be sufficient to take care of that particular problem.
Rail car humping yard?
