Nolte: Cheaper to Drive Gas-Powered Car 100 Miles than Average Electric Car
Breitbart ^ | 01-30-2023 | John Nolte

Thanks to skyrocketing electricity prices, it now costs more to drive the average electric vehicle 100 miles than it does to drive a gas-powered car the same distance.

A report from the Anderson Economic Group (AEG) shows that driving a gas-powered car 100 miles costs an average of $11.29. However, the cost for people who drive electric vehicles and charge up at home is $11.60 per hundred miles. A little more expensive.

But.

For those electric car owners who use recharging stations, the average cost for 100 miles is substantially higher at $14.40.

But at least you’re saving the planet, right?

Except it is wrong. Cherry picking high rate numbers. I pay a special rate between 11PM and 7AM - 3.5 cents per kWhr. Costs me less than $2 to charge for 100 miles. What a load of BS.

Probably a lot more expansive after adding in the cost of the home charging station and spreading the cost over the useless live of the EV.

Good for you charging at home. Most people don’t have your setup. Some people even drive far enough they have to charge away from home (horrors!), especially in winter.

Their plan is clear. Force everybody to drive an EV. Those EVs will be controlled by a central computer (They haven’t told us yet). It will decide where you can go, when, and IF you can go. It will record the miles driven so they can send you the bill for miles driven.

It looks like they forgot to tell us all that. It’s just an oversight. Surely they will give us all the details. Surely we won’t wake up one day and we’re locked into a system that controls our every movement.

Obviously this won’t apply to the ruling party elite, which will drive Ford Shelby GT500 Mustangs, drink champagne and eat escargots on our money while we shiver in the dark.

Who drives 100 miles in an electric car and pay for rapid charging? Nobody. They charge at home. I have 7 cents per kWh here at my home in Texas.

That’s about as stupid as buying gasoline at the last gas station on the way to the airport.

Not an honest comparison, unless you look at the prices actually paid vs cherry picking your comparison.....

Yep, and so why the cost of EVs matter?

If there were no US government controls, (ie. a free-market) Americans would be able to buy ICE cars that are simple, safe, get 40+ miles per gallon, lasted 300K miles, and cost <$15,000.

You will next be “mandated” into buying $60K electric vehicles that suck.

Wait until the hey force everyone onto electric cars and then see what happens to your special night rate.

What state do you hang your hat in by the way.

The over-sensitive person has no clue that “average” means about half the people are doing better than average. Some are doing way better, some are doing way worse.

It’s Science!

There has been an increase in negative press about EVs lately. Big oil and big auto (UAW) must be feeling threatened.

ICE cars are computerized just like EVs. The govmnt can control them just like EVs if they want to. And they could control gasoline supplies as easily as electricity.

Same here, flat out wrong. Gas here is $5 a gallon and higher, while we pay a low rate overnight for electricity. Way more expensive driving an ICE vehicle.

If so, then they’re trying to fix that! Gas is only getting damn higher.

And that’s not even counting the tax you will soon be assessed for miles driven...since you bypassed the tax of the gas pump.

So much for the “I can fill my tank for seventy-five cents” arguments for EVs.
