Russian Army Headed by 'Totally Incompetent People,' Ex-Russian VP Warns
MSN--Newsweek ^ | 1-30-2023 | Thomas Kika

The former vice president added: "If the armed forces do not have the ability to conduct strategic offensive operations, then it is better not to try, especially outside your own country... People are dying senselessly, although the slogan is 'Defend Russia.' Where are they defending Russia? What are they dying for....? Who has the right to take a father away from his children? Who gave the right to take away sons from mothers and fathers? Nobody."

During the same talk, Rutskoy took aim at Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling him a "laughingstock" for not carrying out certain military intentions, citing heavily disputed Russian claims that the United Kingdom was responsible for the destruction of the Nord Stream gas pipelines last year.

"Britain blew up the Nord Stream pipelines," Rutskoy said. "And what is the reaction? Nothing. Just blah-blah-blah. Why is this happening? Because from a military point of view, we have no strategic planning. [Putin] voices his intentions, which are not realized. It makes him a laughing stock."

Alexander Rutskoy, the former vice president of Russia, had harsh words for the country's military during a recent talk, while also predicting that it will not see a victory in Ukraine.

Beginning his career in the Soviet military, Rutskoy eventually rose to become Russia's first and only vice president, serving under former President Boris Yeltsin. He held the office from 1991, shortly after the fall of the Soviet Union, to 1993, when the office was abolished amid the Russian constitutional crisis of the same year. During his time in office, he notably advocated independence for former Soviet territories, including Ukraine, Crimea, and Moldova.

“All that is happening there today is explained by the fact that our armed forces are unable, I emphasize, unable to conduct strategic offensive operations,” Rutskoy said. “For 22 years, the armed forces have been commanded by people who did not serve in the army. For a quarter of a century, the armed forces have been headed by totally incompetent people.”

We spent 20 years in Iraq and Afghanistan and didn’t win either war, so can we say US military leaders are any better.

If Alexander Rutskoy hasn’t been sanctioned by the West, then this is just old-guy gas.

Was winning really the objective? It seems that we never have an exit strategy.

I'm glad these Ukrainian fighters surrendered. Return them to their homes and let them finish their lives

Sometimes, it’s not the times you decide to fight, but the times you decide to surrender, that makes all the difference. It would be better to surrender before you begin. be lost. Well, you have a point there, we have people in the military who think they are the opposite sex. WWIII will be interesting, stocking up on popcorn now. My Family will not be answering any calls from DC.

Actually we won on the battlefield. The reason we lost is trying to install democracy in a society where it does not work. The logical course of action was to install a benevolent dictator of our choice. If he gets out of line, take him out and install a new one.

Conservatives generally support our military, and root for the USA. Now, the political powers are another story, but we’ve never been disrespectful of our folks in uniform.

It is awful that the hate for Biden, Obama, Clinton, et al, has driven conservatives into the formerly Leftist anti-miliary camp of haters.

The Left looks at EVERYTHING through their Woke world view. What is ours?

How can a story about Russia be filled with anti-US military posts?

And never forget, the under-funded, under-trained, under-equipped, corrupt and completely incompetent Ruskie military is such a dire threat to NATO, that the US has to ESCALATE the conflict & risk nuclear war! We obviously have no other choice! /s

They told us the sanctions would work too.

The sanctions put more than $100 Billion in additional funds from energy exports in the Russian's pockets in 2022 vs 2021.
