The new General Motors Hummer electrical vehicle, priced at $115,000, has presented owners with many problems.
Roman Mica, the publisher of the website The Fast Lane Truck, posted a video of a brand new Hummer with multiple problems.
Mica was unable to move the vehicle because the shifter wouldn’t move and the trunk would not open. He finally got it in gear and drove it back to the dealer.
WATCH:
Reports have been published that point out an “offroad” Hummer malfunctions if a car wash goes awry, and issues with the software have caused faulty tail lights.
The Hummer is not the only electric vehicle experiencing issues.
A 2014 Ford Focus Electric needed a new battery that cost $14,000 -- and the car originally cost $11,000!
Consumer research group J.D. Power last year published a study indicating that EV owners are far less satisfied with their cars than are those who own traditional gas-powered vehicles. And it seems that unreliability of battery power is but one of the issues.
And yet, “progressive” politicians and “green energy” advocates remain obsessed with forcing Americans to buy electric vehicles in spite of the many problems that continue to plague the industry. The most rabid proponents of electric automobiles refuse to let the free market decide if such cars and trucks are truly wanted or even necessary.

I am sorry, the videos that I posted are from the same guy as this article.
EVs might be OK for people who live in urban areas where trips are short and recharging stations plentiful. However as more EVs are on the road their limitations will become very apparent to their owners. EVs rely heavily on electronic technology which can be prone to difficult to resolve technical problems. Range does not live up to the hype in real world use. Costly battery replacement will make an EVs worth far less as a used vehicle. The issue of fires due to battery failure has not been fully resolved. For most of us an ICE vehicle will still be the best choice.
This isn’t an electric vehicle problem. This is a “You Bought a General Motors product, what did you expect?” problem, because their regular gas vehicles do this too.
Whoa! For that kind of money GM execs should be carrying you wherever you want to go.
The oversized electric golf kart fanbois will be along to condemn you for laughing at their liberal virtue signaling toys.
“Consumer research group J.D. Power last year published a study indicating that EV owners are far less satisfied with their cars than are those who own traditional gas-powered vehicles.”
Hey!
Liberal virtue signaling requires sacrifice!
Picture of slaves carrying potentate....
That is AOC’s next vehicle. So she will be properly pampered for her magnificence.
Teslagator will not be amused
“Oops, I tripped!” :)
i wonder how many single point of failures are in an EV vs a regular car?
“Does anyone know if that was true?”
sounds like bullshit to me ... the relatively small battery in hybrids is merely a buffer for regenerative breaking and providing power for basic functions when the engine automatically cycles off when the car is idling ... i can’t imagine a system like that working without a functioning buffer battery, and i can’t imagine a relatively small replacement buffer battery would be anywhere near as expensive as the massive battery that provides ALL the power for an actual EV ...
Hell, for $115,000 it damnd well oughta include a trained chimp that can use the Mechanics Tools under the hood.
I would say, probably a ton more hundreds of billions of dollars. I know that sucks, but that’s reality.
We had two GM cars, and mine used to just stall and the engine would go off in the middle of a road, and the steering would lock up and I would have to drift to the side. It was pretty horrifying. It did it twice, and I would avoid the interstate.
it IS a GM vehicle, maybe they could include a “Trunk Monkey”.
90 percent of electric vehicles are still on the road.
The other 10 percent made back home.

Plug in/regenerative systems make absolute sense to me.
You get the best of both systems, i just wish the hybrid side wouldn’t essentially brick the car when it has an issue
But after how many more hundreds of billions of dollars wasted?
not wasted just reallocated to other pockets and bank accounts
