At least two out of of five Memphis police officers charged with murder in the fatal beatdown of Tyre Nichols joined the force after the department relaxed its hiring requirements.
Tadarrius Bean and Demetrius Haley both joined the Memphis Police Department in Aug. 2020, NBC News reported, more than two years after the department dramatically loosened the education qualifications to become an officer.
Recruits no longer needed an associate’s degree or 54 college credit hours to join the force, and could get by with five years of work experience, Action 5 reported.
Loosening the required qualifications however means that the department is ultimately getting “less desirable” job candidates, Mike Alcazar, an adjunct professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a retired NYPD detective, told The Post..

People with names like Tadarius and Demetrius are just cursed with low IQs.
Saint Demetrius was a Thessalonian, a most pious son of pious and noble parents, and a teacher of the Faith of Christ. When Maximian first came to Thessalonica in 290, he raised the Saint to the rank of Duke of Thessaly. But when it was discovered that the Saint was a Christian, he was arrested and kept bound in a bath-house. While the games were under way in the city, Maximian was a spectator there. A certain friend of his, a barbarian who was a notable wrestler, Lyaeus by name, waxing haughty because of the height and strength of his body, boasted in the stadium and challenged the citizens to a contest with him. All that fought with him were defeated. Seeing this, a certain youth named Nestor, aquaintance of Demetrius', came to the Saint in the bath-house and asked his blessing to fight Lyaeus single-handed. Receiving this blessing and sealing himself with the sign of the precious Cross, he presented himself in the stadium, and said, "O God of Demetrius, help me!" and straightway he engaged Lyaeus in combat and smote him with a mortal blow to the heart, leaving the former boaster lifeless upon the earth. Maximian was sorely grieved over this, and when he learned who was the cause of this defeat, he commanded straightway and Demetrius was pierced with lances while he was yet in the bath-house, As for Nestor, Maximian commanded that he be slain with his own sword.
I'm guessing that there are hundreds. And they get promoted over much more qualified officers.
Hundreds ? More like thousands.

Chief Craig in Daytwah worked out well.
Sheriff Clarke was also stellar.
Intellectually bankrupt and morally fallow
Did the Female Black Police Chief lower the standards?
WHAT???
Do you fear God? Do you believe in God? Etc.
I believe that all the violent criminals let out of jail in 2020 are now “cop” running the corruption in the cities. Hired goons by by mafia types “elected” into office. Legalization of crime
They should have been named Halarious.
So you can imagine how the military is going to turn out.
I’m personally aware that Philly was better under mob rule than it is now.
Here’s my shocked face. 😮
Nefarious
Two types are attracted to police work: protectors and those who enjoy power over others.'
When culture incentives discourage 'protectors' from signing up the proportion of bullies increases. The same thing happened in Miami after the 'boat life' when Castro emptied his jails and prisons into Miami. Policing became stressed - new police had to be hired and qualifications were relaxed - the ratio to 'old hands with experience' to new recruits dropped. The result was chaos that caused brutality. If policing is less attractive it decreases qualified recruits and increases less qualified which causes more incidents which causes less respect for the profession which causes fewer good rectifies which causes....
Affirmative action hires, proving yet again that lowering the bar to increase racial “diversity” helps no one.
I imagine half their police force was hired like that - and definitely the police chief.
