Keep the Lord’s Day in the Lord’s way.
A blessed Fourth (or Third) Sunday after the Epiphany (Western)/Thirty-First Sunday after Pentecost & Sunday of the Canaanite Woman (Orthodox) to all!
Titles complicated again...at least next week the Orthodox begin the Lenten Triodion so there will be a little simplification.
No parties. I did spend this afternoon with my brother, SIL, sister, and nephew and we had a good time.
Then hit the store for a few things so I won’t have to shop the next week in the rain.
We’ll be in the 40s starting tomorrow and from Monday night on, our lows will be freezing or below and that’s when we have chances for frozen stuff. Daytime highs are SUPPOSED to be 40 or a touch above so we’ll just get rain. Not going to be a pretty week overall.
Thought of snow must make you cringe, too, but it’s wet and you need wet.
How fun to get to see your brother and his family. Glad you had a nice visit. Good idea to get your shopping done before icky weather hits.
No, I don’t look forward to the cold or the snow, but mostly because it affects the kitties’ being warm enough. They are such tough little things, though. Bless ‘em.
Good evening, radu, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Hope you are warming up and the wind is winding down.
Streets were fairly dry when I went into work, and sloppy wet a few hours later. Now it’s below freezing again.
Internet behaved for a couple hours and I could post from my own computer.
But the last hour or so has been hit or miss, but reconnecting is working the first or second tries. I had a survey in my mailbox last night from Best Buy about my Geek Squad encounter last week. I was not hesitant in telling them, but I did ease up at the end and told them I would be calling again. Maybe if I call in the morning I will get someone local who speaks better English.
My sister and I have been estranged for several years but with her battling cancer now, it was time to get together. I hadn’t seen my nephew in over 20 years. I wasn’t sure how it would go but it went great except for seeing my sister so ill.
I didn’t need to get much at the store but didn’t want to run out of milk and a couple other things and have to get it while it’s raining. I did get lucky and came home with three big bags of cat food that I didn’t expect to see on the shelves. I grab it when I can find it. :-)
I don’t look forward to it getting cold again either but I know it’s harder for you since the cats are stuck outside with it. But they have their warm hidey spots to help them out.
Hey there, Kathy.
It warmed up a little the past two days but it’s going to get cold again, and wet for the next week.
no surprise your streets were sloppy today. The snow on the lake ice is still melting quite a bit each day and the parking lots look slushy. Planes landing on the lake have a rough time of it because it’s slippery and bumpy. Not many are using the lake these days.
GOOD EVENING, TIGERHAWK...AND SHAVUAH TOV TO YOU AND YOURS.
HOPE YOU ARE HAVING NICE WEATHER AND KEEPING NICE AND WARM.
WE’VE BEEN DOING THE ROLLER COASTER WEATHER THING LATELY. TODAY WAS 37 MID-DAY, AND LOTS OF SLOPPY ROADS. NOW, JUST A FEW HOURS LATER, IT’S LOW 20s. GLAD I DON’T HAVE TO GO OUT TOMORROW ON ICY ROADS.
You must be ready to pull your hair out by now with this going on so long. I’ve only had a few days of on-off-on-off and had my fill by late afternoon yesterday and shut the computer off.
Good luck with calling the Geek Squad tomorrow. Something HAS to be done to fix the problems so you can do what you need to do.
God Bless our military men and women who have given their all.
Thanks, unique.
Bravo that you were able to find some more cat food! That probably made your day. :)
So very sorry that your sister is so ill. I’m glad y’all have had a chance to visit and to get to know your nephew after all these years. I haven’t seen my niece in I don’t know how long. She is very strange, and she never visits her dad, my brother, especially after he divorced her mom. Or rather she divorced him. He was shocked when it happened. But he remarried to a fellow teacher and they have been extremely happy. Families. So many layers of the stories.
How's everyone doing this morning?
I was very happy to see the cat food today. I haven’t been ale to find any at all lately. It seems to be fits and starts with it these days and I hate it’s going to be so wet the next several days. Maybe there’ll be some breaks so I can make store runs in hopes of finding more.
It was a blow to hear my sister had cancer and it’s one of the rarer forms that doesn’t have a good prognosis. So it was good my brother was able to convince her to get together today and we all had a good time.
Yep, lots of layers to family stories. We all have them.
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Are you and Gizmo still enjoying nice weather for your outings at the lake?
Your day sounds like an all round success. I’m glad you had a great visit with your brother and sister, and I pray that your sister is not in great pain with her cancer and the doctors do all they can to keep her comfortable when the time comes. She must be scared. I would be. It’s the enemy.
Guess I’d better go. I’m already dreading getting up in the morning...AND the alarm. See ya tomorrow evening!
Prayers up for you and your family. That news strikes close to home. :(
{{{hug}}}
Very pretty day you two had, even if it was a bit brisk.
I hope you aren’t going to get a lot of wet, maybe frozen, stuff the next week like we will with our cold. That definitely will keep you and Gizmo home.
Yep, it was a successful day. Having uninterrupted internet since I got home has been the icing on the cake. LOL
Apparently my sister isn’t having problems with pain. The chemo has just kicked her butt and it was so bad, they’ve halted treatments. They’re going to go ahead with surgery next month. She’s scared, yes, but is doing everything she can to beat it. I don’t know if I could be as strong as she has.
I wish your alarm good luck in the morning. LOL Sleep well.
Thanks, Allegra.
You’ve been through this, too, have you? It’s our second time. Dad lost his battle with prostate cancer after 23 years fighting it on and off. It’s tough seeing family members go through the ordeal and feeling helpless to make it go away.
