A Tennessee sheriff has suspended two deputies and ordered a new investigation into Tyre Nichols' death after personally reviewing the sickening video.
Shelby County Sheriff Floyd Bonner Jr. said he had 'concerns' about the two deputies who arrived after Nichols was beaten, putting them on leave as he launches an internal review over the officers' conduct.
A street cam video of the altercation, which began over a traffic stop, shows two officers, who have not been identified, arriving at the scene after five had beaten and pinned Nichols, 29, to the ground.
The group of officers could be seen standing around the injured man, first bumping each other as he lays twitching on the ground before an eighth officer appears and paramedics arrive.
In his full statement, Bonner said: 'Having watched the videotape for the first time tonight, I have concerns about two deputies who arrived on the scene following the physical confrontation between police and Tyre Nichols.
'I have launched an internal investigation into the conduct of these deputies to determine what occurred and if any policies were violated,' he added. 'Both of these deputies have been relieved of duty pending the outcome of this administrative investigation.'
The brutal beating caught on police body camera and a street surveillance camera show the group of officers delivering brutal kicks and sucker punches to Nichols as he lies on the ground.
After they handcuff and pin him to the ground, three other officers arrive and the group can be seen standing by as Nichol is left dragged and propped up to sit.
The injured man, however, is unable to keep himself sitting and writes and twitches, but the officers do not tend to him, and two are seen fist-bumping each other by the hood of the patrol car.

Are the two deputies white? Maybe that’s the angle, the white deputies forced the 5 Black Cops to murder a Black citizen.
Highly doubt Sheriff “just saw” the video.
Very difficult to watch those videos....No doubt officials can tell who did what...and who watched the beating without intervening.

I think this was a municipal (i.e., Memphis) case, not a county one. As such, the Memphis PD would be involved in the investigation of the incident, not the county Sheriff’s Office.

That was my first thought. They need to have a white boy in the mix to do some real hating on.
From the pics & video, the paramedics are not white either. Were either of the fist bumping deputies white? This looks like it was an all black cast of characters. Apparently all “white supremacist blacks.”
I think the beating was the issue at hand. He’s in the loop, now. And, apparently, his deputies have no body-cams.
That’s what that moron, Van Jones, thinks they were. The meathead says this was an evil act of “racism.” That boy has totally lost it. Whitey is just like Trump now. It gives those at the bottom of the food chain someone to blame EVERYTHING on. Even when they had nothing to do with it.

If the deputy sheriffs arrived AFTER the subject was pummeled, and they had no context of what happened, How are they responsible? How did they act unethically?

How is it possible this entire platoona cops had no idea about these Street cameras?
I would still like to know what and where were these officers that immediately rushed and dragged him out of the car before they went after him because they were already clearly wired up.
Still I would have thought he would have been given the heads up before now. You know like “hey sheriff two of your men showed up at the scene after the fact you might want to see this video”
The sheriff sees them fist bumping so he’s not taken off guard today. He knew this was going to be bad. He knew there were going to be riots. He should have been in the know before now so he could do something about those officers and said he did something.
From my point of view and a lot of others? This makes him took like a total clueless idiot who just didn’t care.
