Rookie Georgia police officer Jacob Kersey resigned after his superiors threatened to terminate him for expressing his views on traditional marriage, the Daily Signal reported today.
"I never would have thought I would have been placed in a situation where I have to choose between my Christian faith and my dream job," 19-year-old Kersey said Wednesday in a Facebook post. "I am grateful for the opportunity that I was given to be a police officer. I do not take that honor and responsibility lightly. However, my integrity and Christian beliefs are at the core of who I am, and I will not abandon them," he added.

On the clock? Should not do it.
Off hours? None of their business what he thinks
I've noticed that a lot of people in my church--liberals and conservatives--don't know the details of this homosexual takeover of the church (I've been sending out articles in an effort to enlighten them). They aren't aware of the drag queens and lesbians getting into leadership positions. They think the disaffiliation is nothing more than a strong dislike of gay people (and some of these church members have gay children).
It is surprising how ignorant people are as to what's actually going on in America.
The Marxists are counting on Americans' ignorance of the details.
And as I said in my previous post, a lot of those voting to "stay" don't really know the issues. And frankly, a lot of those voting to "leave" don't really know the issues either.
In the meetings I attended to discuss the disaffiliation, I have been taken aback by the stupid comments from both sides.
He might even have attended some "sensitivity training seminars."
Yet another reason to never be in social media under your real name.
I vent my opinions on the internet, like here, but never in a forum where it would be easy to associate what I say with my real world identity.
If only one person can somehow see the light, that is one person the Lord has saved.
BTW, I also teach Sunday School from time to time. It is depressing to see just how little passion there is for the Lord. Many of these people are asleep.
I would suggest there are two Georgia’s now. There Atlanta-metro, and then the rest of the state.
Because we gave the queers an inch they now want a mile. I missed the days when sexual deviants were so scared they kept it to themselves.
Interesting
I’m going to guess that a this point out church is probably listed as an extremist/hate group (while hate couldn’t be further from the truth)
And it’s not small and it’s growing fast
BTW, a pastor from Valdosta spoke at a meeting last week (before the vote) about how his church had voted to disaffiliate. He said that 100+ new members have joined since their disaffiliation.
Rural California is quite conservative. But the Los Angeles and San Francisco/San Jose metro areas have the population. (I hear San Diego still has a sizable number of Republicans.)
Rural New York is conservative. But people live in its cities -- New York City, Buffalo, Albany, etc.
We would welcome you in Missouri.
This is flat out illegal. Not allowing discrimination due to one’s religion is the very basis of our nation. Some government employees seem to think you’re required to be “free from religion” to have a government job when the *opposite* is true. You’re protected from government targeting you based on religious beliefs.
Lawsuit.
This is why the Democrats want to get rid of the Electoral College...so the Democrat cities control the states forever and ever.
Just remember this story next time you hear a “conservative” call for more police.
Not enough of “us” stood up and said enough of this insanity and pushed back. Not enough..
Consider, Californian voted twice overwhelmingly to affirm that marriage is solely between one man and one woman, only to have a gay federal judge declare the vote unconstitutional.
And gay ‘marriage’ was basically imposed on us by the votes of five men and women who are completely unaccountable to the voters.
Thank you, noob ;)
You are right!
Yes, they care in that way.
“... a lot of those voting to “stay” don’t really know the issues. And frankly, a lot of those voting to “leave” don’t really know the issues either.”
Manifestly, the REAL problem is a lot of people ON BOTH sides A) don’t know their Bible, and B) aren’t serious about being followers of Christ.
When Peter was asked, “What must we do to be saved?” His answer INCLUDED 2 things:
1. REPENT. Metanoia. Make a QUALITY DECISION. Change your mind about how you’ve been living.
2. “Be baptized into the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness.” Lotta folks take just the first two words and run with it, but Peter delivered the ENTIRE PHRASE as a directive. It’s WAAAY more than just getting dunked in a tank. Peter’s saying IMMERSE YOURSELF INTO CHRIST! That’s getting into his head, trying to understand his thinking, his teaching, his actions — trying to BE LIKE HIM.
You get a body of believers bent on that — you won’t have close votes like this. People intent on being conformed to Christ have got the mind of Christ, they have the Holy Ghost guiding them from the inside out, they hear His voice, and know His Word.
So, it sounds to me like your church has a built-in, internal mission field. Pastor needs to lock in and be serious about preaching The WHOLE Word, or needs to move on and leave the pulpit to a man who will. And the rest off the church needs to lock in and be serious about LIVING OUT the WHOLE Word. And probably in that environment there’ll be many who take the hint and get serious. And there’ll likely be some who won’t stand the heat, and they’ll move on.
In the end, the church will be stronger, a more vibrant witness to the surrounding community, and those in it will actually be the salt and light they’re called to be.
