Rookie Georgia police officer Jacob Kersey resigned after his superiors threatened to terminate him for expressing his views on traditional marriage, the Daily Signal reported today.
"I never would have thought I would have been placed in a situation where I have to choose between my Christian faith and my dream job," 19-year-old Kersey said Wednesday in a Facebook post. "I am grateful for the opportunity that I was given to be a police officer. I do not take that honor and responsibility lightly. However, my integrity and Christian beliefs are at the core of who I am, and I will not abandon them," he added.

It’s very bad.
Constitution? They don’t care.
Decades of allowing the communists to run unchecked.....
I remember when Georgia was considered part of the Bible Belt.
Sadly, I can believe it. Not enough of “us” stood up and said enough of this insanity and pushed back. Not enough..
Only morally depraved gender fluid persons are allowed to be police officers.
Proud of you, Jacob Kersey. Very proud.
They can take their "gender fluids" and stick 'em in a sock!
Regards,
I personally don’t understand how a Christian can be a cop.
Enforcing un-ethical laws without question.
I get the first responder and hero part of it
and admire that.
The revenuer, ticket/citation giver part I do not.
Law is law and they are paid to enforce it.
but they do more chicken shit than ethical.
So they are despised.
What does his views on marriage have to do with stopping crime or assisting people in need?
In my real world, NOthing!
Wholesome values?
Can’t have that... /s
Port Wentworth, a town of around 10,000 in the Savannah metropolitan area. In case anyone else is wondering. Based on income and racial demographics, I’m betting Democrat run.
The communists want the Constitution dumped in the trash bin and our institutions (like the Port Wentworth PD) are enabling them.
Good for him and good for us. He stood up so only a bunch more of us need to stand up.
Screw evil.
Someone tell him to contact the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Grady Judd is hiring and he’d fit right in.
My church in South Georgia just voted to "disaffiliate" from the United Methodist Church on Monday night.
It was close though...won by 2 votes in a 2/3's majority vote.
When the voting was over and the decision was reported to those waiting in the pews, one man (who has a lesbian daughter) stood up and yell, "people who voted for this are an 'abomination' and will go to hell." This goes to show that many in the church believe it is some kind of community service club where they pay lip service to Jesus but live according to their own definition of Godliness.
As an aside, the wife of the man who stood up and yelled approached me before the vote to share her opinion ("no" vote), I ask her is she knew what the Bible had to say about homosexuality? She just look at me quizzically. When she didn't answer, I said "abomination."
I wondered if that is why her husband called the "no" voters an abomination. Perhaps she shared our conversation with hubby and the word stuck in his mind.
The fact that the vote was so close should tell you something. You’re in the wrong church
Port Wentworth Police Department's Major Sherrod says, in part, "After reviewing your Podcast and social media platforms. . .we did not find sufficient evidence to establish a violation of any policies. . . However, the posts, podcasts, and so forth found and considered in our investigation likely offensive to protected classes .
May the LORD God come to his aid.
